A high percentage of things that end up in Newspapers are from social media. It takes very little for it all to kick off.

I know for a fact that companies check social media before employing people and I know that if you ever end up in bother with the law both your defence and prosecution will immediately lift anything you have posted on Facebook and Twitter.

You can seemingly learn a lot of about someone very quickly.

So to t roll on even pretty innocent and low level like in this case is as a dumb as fuck and about time he got a bit of a wake up call as he's been doing it for years. A sad act from Thornaby got outed for Tweeting some fairly repulsive stuff about Katie Price's son the other week, he lost his job as soon as it made the nationals. Is it all really worth a few bites and a chuckle from the handful of people that actual know he's not like that? No, it's absolutely embarrassing at the end of the day. I'm not saying Tim has or would stoop to such vile levels but it's escalated to a national level very quickly and his name will forever be associated with 'sexist' if you google it. Oh and it's a good job he wasn't previously posting worse stuff as some hack from these red tops will have read every single one of his Tweets for more dirt. It's not really worth it for a 'bite' is it?

I can sympathise with Tucker to a point, I did something similar and got banned, it was aimed at someone I knew and I didn`t think through the consequences of how it might look, stupid really looking back and how it must have been seen through the eyes of people with attachments to the subject.

Well said Mr Butt. You have a "Persona" on this board which is probably your alter ego/ letting a little steam off/ having a laugh, from the "Real World". As has been mentioned before you are a different person in real life. Most posters will agree with this, people are different in front of a keyboard as to in real life.

As to Mr Butts post he is correct, its all about personal views/humour etc against other peoples Perception . Some will take comments as humour, some will ignore, some will take it personally,some will be offended and some will deliberately take offence, due to the Poster. it may be a free society but some are more free than others. if you have older views of women, foreigners, non christians and gays you seem to be castigated in sociaty as if you were a mass murderer. not saying we should go back to those days but we need a bit more balance in arguements. not all minority groups are squeeky clean either. there,s good and bad everywhere.

In the grand scheme of things social media is still really new. I hope that the kids growing up with it have a better understanding of respect/tolerance/politeness or whatever.
