He was the one everyone was talking about a few years ago I think we even had interest from Man City in him but like many of our young players he doesn't seem to have kicked on. I think he's been sub for the reserves of late even. He obviously has ability though so hopefully this is a good move for him.

Mind he might have been sub because he's been pushed back by the 28 pointless signings the club has made of a similar age to him.

Yeah for some reason I thought he was a bit older than 18. I remember him making one sub appearance but he's not really been near since. It's seems we'd rather sign kids on loan or permanently than give our own a chance.

He is a decent prospect, 2 footed and not afraid to take a man on, scored a few but like PJ said, he keeps getting benched for the endless prospects we sign!

Didn't get on today, pitch wasn't the best and it was a tight game so not ideal to throw a young winger on.
Hopefully get to see him next time out.

Too lightweight for the first team.

I like how your straighten out the pressing matters.
You'll crease up when you see what I mean.

I heard its coz he can only play in a flat back 4. May have problems with temper, may need to let off a little steam!

I have never seen the kid but the fact that he does not even get a relgular start in the reserves makes me wonder and the players keeping him out are our own players not the signings from outside.
I still believe if the manager thought he was good enough he would play him. He has in fact had a loan at Whitby.

Did you see the goal he scored for Whitby, beat 4 players and slotted it home?

As I say I have never seen the kid but playing devils advocate I remember a local kid called Terry Francis scoring four goals on his debut and he never scored again and what about Michael Maidens wonder goal a few years ago. You cannot judge a player by isolated moments.

Your right, however watching nearly every reserve game for the last 2 years gives me a slightly better knowledge :ugeek:

He is a left winger, he has Thomas in front of him, he is a first year pro, he has been overlooked by loanees, triallists and a manager with small nuts, I have seen him torture right backs but i`m not a qualified coach, even if I have played at a decent level and was once a dreaded man Utd fan :o

He has not had Thomas in front of him for months. Surely if he is that good Hignett, Collins or even the new set up would have given a try. He is not even anywhere near the bench.
I do hope he proves you right and comes back good enough and not like his brother who was at a similar stage at that age.
As far as the reserves are concerned I went regularly when they played at the Vic but I cannot be bothered to go to Billingham. To be honest I thought it bacame non competitive with some teams just filled with young kids. How often do you read the phrase in match reports " a young ..... side" meaning very young.
