Just where are we going, because it's becoming increasingly obvious we're still in the mindset of past seasons and bumbling along.
Is Harrison really the Messiah? I'm having my doubts. Lots of off the pitch footy techno babble that never comes to fruition on the pitch.
I went into this season with great optimism, not expecting cricket scores and promoted by Xmas or crap like that. but with a general belief better things were around the corner.....I've never went from optimistic to despondent in a season like this one....... ah well.

Post-match yesterday he described the last 3 games as 'one bad, one good, one average performance.'

So, losing 3-0 away to Ebbsfleet United is just 'average.' That's our new reality. We shouldn't get too worked up about losing to a bunch of part-timers from Kent who get about a thousand along to home games because, well, they're not as bad as Halifax.

I feel the same as you, and Chip is absolutely right to point out that Pools don't need a League Two set up to produce bang average results. For me, the bubble was burst losing 3-0 to Morecambe in the FA Cup. We've gone backwards even since last season; it's not about a 'slow start' as Harrison keeps saying, Pools are over-stuffed with average National League players and very little quality apart from a goalkeeper and a crocked on loan centre back.

Taking Featherstone off at 1-0 was suicidal. Okay we needed to get back into the game, but you still have to keep things tight at the back. A 1-0 defeat and few would of noticed, a 3-0 defeat and people analyse everything, Harrison, the players, our play off hopes.

"I went into this season with great optimism"

we all did, because thats what the manager told us to expect.

he says he has had the opposition(every team) watched, he knows this, that and everything inbetween
about who we are up against.

he,s studied their strengths and their weakness, and thats problem.
too much time wasted on the opposition.

we did not torture halifax because we knew their weaknesses, we tortured them because
we took the game to them.

every manager (including those at the very top), first and formost know
theire own players insideout and their strengths and weaknesses.

and this is where craig harrison fails on all counts.

even someone looking after a sunday league outfit knows his defensive line up
from day one.

he can then build his squad accordingly, but failure to get the defensive side correct
ends in chaos/ failure.

my high hopes for this season, are now just that, HOPES

This league is getting more compressed as the weeks go by. 8 points from top to us in 13th, and its 13 points to the drop!!! dont even want to think about that!! :(

Thats a stat that Harrison should think about :roll
