Yeah, I'm in that position every year. It helps once you've worked out the theme of each set of ten (there always is one) so that you have a way in, but even then its a bugger.


Example: Round 9 Question 5 jumped out at me. That references Lady Macbeth's words following Duncan's murder ("I heard the owl scream and the crickets cry"). Once I saw that, other questions from that block immediately suggested Claudius, Antiochus, Leontes, etc. So it was clearly a round on kings in Shakespeare, and I could make short work of it. There's other blocks where I haven't got the first clue yet.
