Just bought an Espresso/Cappuchlno machine. Bouight Aldi's standard Coffee and its a 4 and tastes okay. Today bought some Columbian (3) Coffee that's sweet and Berry tasting. Not tried it yet. Any other recommendations.

For those of a certain age the machine has a steam pipe that goes krrrssshhhhh etc when frothing the milk, just like in Cafe's years ago.

I use Percol Black & beyond (6) as I like strong coffee, nice pick me up in the morning, have one of those machines but gone back to the Italian pot method on the stove.
Don`t forget to keep it sealed and in the fridge!

I get mine from Home Bargains, only 1.49 and as it is a shop of in/out offers, always something different.

I tried a 6 strength coffee once, Hot Lava Java, before a game of footy and I was like a blue arsed fly. Give me a pounding headache after as well.

That is why I take a shot in the morning, get all the housework done and then chill, don`t get a headache though, saying that I can drink coffee before bed and fall asleep in 5 seconds!

I drink that quite frequently. The Taylor's of Harrogate one? Lovely brew although as you say it is strong as fook!

The after dark variety is really nice too.

Thanks all, keep the suggestions coming. I'm sitting reading this with a lovely homemade Cappuccino, in my nice comfy, warm, fleecy Loungeware, with the heating on. Can life get any better in Winter?

Mr Shilts, as for Starbucks and Costa, see above, and I'm not a millionaire! Plus I'm easily pleased!

Lavazza in the black packet used to be a big favourite of mine Mr Bishop. Mostly on the Nespresso pods now but I wouldn't recommend changing your machine.

Thanks all, just started the Colombian coffee, milder than the other but a nice smooth afternoon cuppa. I've also mastered the milk steamer so nice and frothy without milk all over the walls.

I use a Tassimmo at work and love the Kenco 100% Colombian. My Mam bought my Dad some cat shit coffee for his birthday this year, it's called Kopi Luwak supposed to be really nice.

Have you tried the Seattle coffee you can get at Asda, a machine like the costa ones in garages, really nice.

What a load of fannies. Coffee should first and foremost taste of coffee. And by that I mean arabica, not that disgusting robusta mouthwash. Quite obviously the Italians have got this drink down to a tee. Everyone else is just trying to catch up, but why bother?

As a direct result of this thread a large, triangular piece of glass has dropped out of my cafetiere, with the result that now all the coffee falls out before I can drink it.

Time to buy a proper machine that uses pressure to extract the deepest flavours. That'll soon put some hair on your chest.

You could have said that earlier, toulouse . I've bought another cafetiere now.
Still, at least it doesn't say krrrssshhhh or spew milk all over the walls.

Pseuds Corner comes to the Bunker.

Poolietim's "I really enjoy Ethiopian coffee which has a slight citrus note" is going to be hard to beat, but the thread isn't finished yet!

I think you will find you get banned for that, safer to start a thread about black coffee than black people!

I can live with the thought that Poolie Bunkerites are a lot of fat knackers who live on takeaways but coffee connoisseurs?

A shot of coffee costs 13p, milk 40p, sugar stick 1p, takeaway cup 2p, somebody is making a big profit when a medium latte is £2 plus and £3 for a grande or big fucker for the plebs!

Sorry Mr Monty et Mr PoolieTim but the 100% Arabica Ethiopian Coffee (2 birds 1 stone etc) was a bit week for me. Still enjoying the (5)Italian stuff though!
