Elbowed a defender

Just been reading the Rochdale forum and nobody out of the 5,000 people at the game know what he did either. It's got to be something worse than an elbow or even punch to be banned for 12 games. Did he tea bag him or something?

Mind the other player involved was that horrible damned bounder Peter Clarke so let's hope whatever he did was particularly macabre and painful.

You surely don't get a 12 game ban for elbowing someone? Especially when the other player suffered no obvious injury.

Must have been one hell of an elbow.

That caused no damage

That no one saw

Watched the Southampton/Inter game last night, a blatant elbow only got a yellow!

Maybe it was 'the people's elbow?'

I have no idea what that is or if it's a rea thing but it rings a bell?

Don't feel 12 game bang is adequate. If that was anywhere but a sporting field he would face criminal charges. Agree club should sack him there is no place for that in football.

It was Peter Clarke though that utter cretin who got Nardiello sent off away at Huddersfield years ago, and classless cheat who was walking about at the Vic with the ball up his top in Lee Clarkes utterly horrible team.

It's a shame he didn't break his jaw as he has deserved it for a number of years.

I'd award him an OBE before a 12 game ban for digging that arsehole.

I bet he did the same earlier in the game.

By the way as well for those on the outrage bus, Clarke was unhurt from this 'assault' I bet same player has got away with same time after time. If he played for Chelsea or Manchester United and not Rochdale do you think he'd have got 12 games for that!? Ridiculous.

I reckon 12 games is about right. It's only 3 games for a pre-meditated leg breaking challenge. Utter cuunts trick.

While Suarez's nibbles were vile they were never going to cause serious damage. A blow to the head like that, particularly one from behind could result in all sorts of terrible injuries. Justice has been served as far as the FA can do. I

As for PJ condoning a elbow to the back of the head, grow up lad.

I obviously wasn't being serious but Clarke is an utter twat who would do the same to someone himself.

Maybe a CBE at best. I also stand by the point that if he played for one of the clubs mentioned and not someone like Rochdale or us he wouldn't have been banned for anywhere near 12 games for that.

I think Mourinho's ban shows how the FA's disciplinary process works.

Ben thatchers elbow was probably the worst I ever seen for city on mendes and he got 6. Granted with twitter outrage the FA would probs be a bit harsher now.

According to the Rochdale forum, Calvin Andrew was retaliating over a previous incident. Still not right but Clarke isn't whiter than white.

Seen as the game on Wednesday is officially a reserve game and first team suspensions don't count, presumably he will be able to play against us?
