I'm on it....plenty of people clapping support for Trump in American election, strange first question for a political debate in the U.K. In hartlepool. Look forward to Ken Clarke on the inevitable Brexit questions (I'm on his side by the way on this one)

Haha although to be fair at his age he's got a decent amount of hair with a nice slick back (ignoring the stray one - which is distracting me as well)

No body mentioned how much we, in the north east loose when we brexit, f....cking numpties. The guy who said we voted so we're out. Yes, as has been said before, we are out accept it, yes, we have to as we are a democratic nation. The pm and loads of the brexiteers think when we negotiate what we would like we will get, sorry but that's not how it works. What we will get is what the remaining EU countries allow us, that is what the big con is.

The Greek was far to clever for the lot of them. Talked more sense than all the panelists. Nice to see most of the audience kept up our reputation of being narrow minded bigots who hung a monkey .. Also a comment from poolymads daughter...

Yeah he was really clever that Greek fella, Former Greek government finance minister. Now, tell me what sort of a state Greece is in? And why isn't he still Greece finance minister. Take your time.

The Athens stock market crashed by 30% and went to the wall in 2015, he resigned never to be seen again, but he's a clever bloke.

This was embarrassing.

Some of the meat head comments just showed the town up.

Cant any of them listen?

The greek fella talked sense as did clarke.

The labour woman hardly spoke and I just thought the fat ukip witch was either going to explode like mr creosote or cry.

The smartarsed bloke telling the mp's to resign was too thick to be given airtime.

And as for the idiot with the glasses who got angry.......jesus wept.

Luckily the panel kept their cool and pulled it round before it got too embarrassing.

Ah Mr Quid... and since we started talking about Brexit what has happened to our currency? ..

What has happened to inflation because of this ..

and what is going to happen if Thatchers Apprentice fires the starting gun .

Varofakis talked sense when he said the British People had voted for a chef to start cooking something when they didn't have a clue what the reciepe was.

That was only one of the gems he came out with all night... He was far more sensible than the baying mob or the fat useless UKIP Moron sat next to him.

And why did the Stock market crash in Athens? It crashed because they thought that Greece was going to get thrown out of the EU.... quite clue there to what may happen if we do leave Mr Quid. .

I know a major company in the UK, that has staff currently under consultation that is going to reduce its overheads by 10% by the end of November.

Brexit has not casued this, but the fear of Brexit has. I know this company very well.

Much of its work comes from overseas investment, investment which has either been shelved, or is under review.

If Harry Hart or any other fucker tells me this isnt happening I will rip their throats out, figuritively speaking.

This one is real.

I had to laugh when the woman in the audience was vehemently stating that WTO will be better than being part of the single market errrmm no sorry. Greek guy nailed that as well saying companies are asking for government protection from the penalties of WTO exports tariffs, government can't afford to offer that protection.

He also made a funny comment about the intellectual capability of the people running Brexit within the Tory government

I expected to dislike him but was immensely impressed - respect re his comment on the 'thick Tories' negotiating Brexit

Nice to see most of the audience kept up our reputation of being narrow minded bigots who hung a monkey .. Too right, embarrassing. I've been telling folk at work that the bloke with the flat cap is from really from Sunderland and supports Manure, and that the rest were bussed in from Redcar.

Varoufakis is indeed a clever bloke - smart enough to admit last night that that the EU Commission, which screwed over his own country, is a disgrace and the EU is in desperate need of serious reform. He wishes the UK had voted to stay in the EU to fight for that reform from the inside.

Cameron pretending that he'd won great concessions in Brussels convinced people like me that the UK had zilch influence there and that as things stand the EU is basically unreformable.
