Here's a couple from carlisle fans on the When Saturday Comes website:

Walt Flanagans Dog wrote:
There's still nothing to see at Carlisle, we might be third and have just broken our hitherto forgotten about 'most unbeaten games at the start of a season' record*, but let's face it that's nowt to write home about cos we've always been shite, and let's face summat else, it'll be downhill from here. There's no point getting excited.

And in a natural progression from WFDs doom-laden prognosis, I'd just like to add that another win last weekend means nowt in the overall scheme of things, cos it merely serves to line us up for a home game this Saturday with local(ish) rivals Hartlepool, in front of a large, expectant crowd at Brunton Park, where we will inevitably do what we always do on such occasions and turn in a flat, lifeless performance in defeat that sends the twice-a-year big game glory hunters home grumbling that it was a load of shite and they wouldn't be back, and yet another opportunity to build up our 'regular' support will have been pissed away....

I'm predicting that they're right and we take all three points. 0-2 Amond and Thomas. 789 Poolies, 1 unpleasant scuffle near The Beehive and 2,100 Carlisle 'supporters' shuffling out with ten minutes to go.

Looking forward to it and will be happy with a draw and a good performance.
Got to put Donnelly in a midfield holding position.

How Carlisle are third and unbeaten is an absolute mystery. They are bang average, long ball merchants and defensively we were poor for all 3 goals. Piss poor against 10 men I'm afraid.

Massively frustrating dominating against ten men you think the only chance they have is set pieces, and we get done twice. The first sounded like a good strike, ok apart from not giving away the free kick in the first place not a lot you can do about that but a free header for a centre half when we have an extra man is really sloppy stuff.

We could be doing so much better.

I know Carlisle seem to care about this game more than us but massively annoying to chuck it away against them yet again through our own stupidity.

We need Donnelly at Centre Half with Toto - not wasted propping the midfield up!

Well today what a let down Carlisle were shocking how on earth they are being talked about as a good team is beyond me.
Pools today were very lethargic no idea of how to open up a very poor side who did not play football just hit and hope.
The goals we conceded less said the better, the third really did just sum up how poor we can defend at times.
Just got to hope featherweight starts us playing a better style of football when he comes back on Saturday

Enough said..............

Honestly think there are a lot of harsh comments..our midfield was far better than theirs, we murdered them in midfield before they scored and was better after they scored.

Carlisle ran out of ideas, couldn't play through us, so went long a real lot.

We got through them numerous times. I agree we fell short when they did go down to 10 men but they went really compact and gave us little space. Yes we gave away a couple of cheap goals. Silly free kick to give away for their 2nd goal and we should of done far better with the 1st corner before the resulting corner in which they scored their 3rd goal.

But we played some nice football today.

The goals we conceded today were seriously poor from a defensive point of view. The second goal was a needless foul then nobody bothered their arse to close the lad down when he hit it, maybe thought Carson could have done better with it as well. The third was poor marking and allowing someone to score a header from 15 yards out, again carson got a hand to it and could have done better. We will always concede goals with Harrison playing, he's just not strong enough for me, Ibehre had him all over at times today and for me he's a weak link, need Bates back. I thought they were poor yet we allow them to score 3 soft goals. How many more goals are we gonna lose from set pieces, needs worked on as its costing us almost every game.

Thought Thomas was very quiet today again, didnt look interested most the game unlike Laurent who i thought was very good!

Toto didn`t even jump for their third goal, maybe he thought nobody was behind him, watch the highlights, so annoying and we were clueless up front, when Paynter came on, Thomas should have gone on the left wing and put balls in the box, he was wasted on the right, they knew he was coming inside and snuffed him out.

Hignett has tactical naivety at times, today was an example, if he was sat in the stands watching, he would have seen the same as us, people in front and behind all said the same, switch Thomas!

Thomas played far too deep, even if he would have preferred to have been on the left. He posed little threat in the first half whilst all the good stuff came from the left, so it may be understandable for Alessandra to have stayed there.
We didn't get the ball wide enough times once they went down to 10 men, making it easy for them to cramp the space through the middle, & we made little attempt to stretch them.
What a stupid second yellow card for their player; deliberate handball right in front of the linesman & hundreds of Poolies. Thick as mince!

I'd like to see how many points we've dropped from really elementary, and down right dereliction of duty this season so far.

Some of the goals we concede are down to a lack of responsibility from individuals.

Hignett talks a lot about a lack of game management. I'd quite like to see some action around this instead of trotting out the same line.

We know Harrison isn't great, he's done well recently but he's just ok. Donnelly is an U21 International captain and so why he was played out of his favoured position to accommodate a proven inconsistent player is beyond me, and it has not worked. Hindsight maybe, but shows a lack of ruthlessness and decisiveness.

Deverdicks has done ok in last away game so why drop him? Easier option ??

Defence was all at sea from set pieces, a basic element of coaching a team. Hignett said they spent time Friday on defending set pieces.........hasn't worked has it.

Pools ought to have won that yesterday and yet again we have that awful feeling you get when we lose which feels worse when it was our own doing....... bloody annoying

Full division is shit probably the worst its ever been.
If we can manage to get a settled team of our best 11 then a play-off spot has to be the aim.
Thats not getting above ourselves its just reality.
Us fans deserve better times.

It's hard to be too frustrated considering the improvement on recent seasons but frustrating it is nonetheless.

Indeed...Three seasons back, Pools going to a team unbeaten in 13 would have seen a 6-0 grubbing.
