Can someone explain to me why when something like this happens in the states and thankfully no one killed, it's all over the media. Yet, when we have a massive blast in Syria and there's a huge loss of life, we're shown a brief picture of people covered in dust among rubble and quickly move on to the next cute puppy story. Funny old world.

Its easier to report news from usa and its hardly news anymore when a bomb goes off in Syria now. People are dying constantly over there. Its now the norm.

Are you serious..? Just because it happens all the time in another country (of which we know little) does not mean it can be ignored. I'd imagine a Syrians life is just as precious as any other life.

It's not a strange mindset at all. It's called the normalcy of war. The IRA understood it back in the 70s - as they saw it, one bomb in London was worth 10 in Belfast. The media would leap all over it, whereas it was just another day if it happened in Northern Ireland. ISIS have realised this too, and that's why as they are losing territory their focus has shifted to putting sleeper cells in western countries. I agree it's a sad state of affairs, but that's the way it is....

yes I'm being serious. If a bomb goes of in Hartlepool everyday for the next year and then one day one goes of in London. Where do you think the big news will be? Their is a war going on over there. Do you want it to be on the news constantly and forget about a bomb in the usa where no war is going on?
