For not reducing tickets massively for the farce cup like some clubs have which has seen some bigger crowds than people hoped for in this. A tenner for adults to watch our reserves play Sunderland reserves will hopefully see a sub 500 crowd.

I'd love to see them not publicise it at all but they have to at least look to break even from the game.

It's probably why they are closing the Millhouse for it with that in mind.

I think clubs like ours making a loss from these games could be a good thing in the long run as it will be one of the very valid reasons why a competition like this never happens again.

Oh jesus, here we go again.

So we now all accept that its everyones right to go to any game they want to.

But anyone prepared to pay ten pounds to watch this should be sectioned.

Especially as nearly the whole football world wants it to fail.

It should be £50 a ticket with no concessions.

The self-proclaimed super fans who feel the need to attend would pay it and help the club break even on a tosspot match.

Agreed. But PJ said I was stupid for suggesting something similar.

I would make it £100 a ticket.

How funny would that be to read the usual suspects moaning about the rip off prices, as they still pay it to get in. They need it for their "never missed a match for 20 years" record.

For last years first round game we got 2221, surely it won't even be close to that. Sunderland took a decent number to there game against Rochdale so they're probably going make the gate more than we'd like to see

Someone has just texted me to say that a lot of people would have gone had it been a fiver to get in.

They really dont have any idea of the consequences of doing that have they?

Do we have more seriously dumb supporters than everyone else?

I didn't say you were stupid at all, I said it was a daft suggestion and it was never going to happen. I understand the sentiment behind what you said but you can't do it, I'm pretty sure the Football League would step in for a start. They have got it right I think it's enough to put people even thinking about going off.

If they couldn't get away with hiking the prices then they should've at least charged the same as for a league match. So they haven't got it right at all, they've got it very fucking far from right to be honest.

I've known people who were proud of getting to either every home match or every home and away match but they only ever included proper first team matches - League, FA Cup, League Cup. Never met anyone who included reserves and Zenith Data Windows Medical Trusses Trophy matches though. Even the superest super fan could support the boycott without suffering any real angst.

Its completely sent the wrong signal.

And it doesnt take much of a wrong signal for the least bright fans to suddenly believe its good value.

If anyone on here attends I do hope they can comeon and explain why. Without saying its Pools and as a true fan you want to watch them :sad-roulette:

It's not good value the tickets are over priced by about £9.99.

Yes it's a reduction from League games but I'm not sure we'd have got away with charging full price. Remember both clubs have to agree on pricing or it goes back to the organisers. These are amongst the most expensive prices I've seen loads of clubs have gone £5 and £1 some even £5 and free, then after that loads of free tickets are flying about to artificially swell gates even more. I reckon £10 and £5 is about as high as we'd get away with.

At that price I'd hope for them to sell out three sides of the ground.

I don't think anyone on the Bunker needs persuading that this cup format needs to fail to see off the risk of B teams in the lower leagues.

Short of picketing the ground on the night (I'm not volunteering and don't suppose any of youse are either) what will be, will be with the Sunderland fixture. The Vic could well be stowed out with Mackems desperate to see a win (any win) for the boys in red and white, plus some misguided Poolies. So what? It's one fixture out of 32 in the next round of games. Most will have pitiful attendances.

The important thing is that HUFC as a club is opposed to this cup format, hopefully quite a few more clubs will be when they've had a chance to assess how it's gone down and then they can get shot of that complete chancer Shaun Harvey as EFL Chief Executive.

We aren't playing Sunderland though, we are playing Sunderland reserves. It's not a competive first team fixture, the first team manager is not involved. Do numbers normally travel to watch reserve away games? Would you pay a tenner to watch the reserves?

I honestly can't see more than a few hundred, at best, claiming to support Sunderland turning up.

You might be right - I guess it could depend on who their overage players are? If the likes of the Mackems, who are genuinely football daft, don't support this competition in numbers we can all stop worrying - it will sink without trace commercially after this season.

Half Sunderland U23s half Pools scarf, that would be as valuable as that Robbie Elliot shirt on ebay in a few years.

It would take a lot to displace my half Pools/Salford scarf, there's not room for two above the mantelpiece.
