Currently in vancouver for whitecaps v ny red bulls. What a ridiculous league. Bradley Wright Phillips is the joint top scorer in the league and was golden boot 2 seasons ago and he earns a 10th of some of the big hitters. Mind you I can't really say I'd rather be watching him today than a frank lampard.

On the plus side the league doesn't stop for international weekends and the stadium is pretty sweet...albeit with an astro pitch. There's many reasons this beats stevenage today

That horsehit does and never will beat Stevenage today my friend even watching us lose 6-1 that is still proper football.

Watching pensioners getting a final pay day playing half paced tripe with no promotion or relegation not even on grass is not even better than the Northern League to be honest.

I would quite like to be having a mooch around Vancouver though. That to be fair does beat Stevenage.

I've been a bit disappointed by vancouver as a city so far. For me canada is all about the lakes and the mountains. This place is big though!

As for mls vs northern league I'm not so sure. Any competition is as good as it's entertainment. I think they'll get it right eventually with a decent format. Vancouver are second bottom but close to the playoffs...whatever that means. They have no recognisable players so that's probably why they are where they are.

Well wouldn't you know it? Bradley shite Phillips scored the only goal. An entertaining game with the worst finishing I've seen since I last saw pools. The whole thing is a total farce though...

The vehicle that comes round and waters the pitch at half time is sponsored by someone

The guy next to me referred to Frank lampard as the player who played for the British national team and Wright Phillips as a black guy who's quick and has a good kick.

The guy the other side shouted "pk ref pk" when one of the players went over in the box.

My personal favourite touch was the company offering free haircuts to fans if the team scored 3 or more goals.

The commentators still sound wrong as well, almost like they are talking about a different sport.
