Nice to see Salford City have got a replacement fixture on July 26 when they called off the Pools fixture. They will now take on Man U which I presume they think is a more attractive game.

It's " a Man U 11" which could mean anything really - but I guess they'll get a full house for the game regardless - unless it's the U-12s!

No doubt our friendly was a gentleman's agreement on the back of the FA cup games. Don't blame them choosing Man Utd reserves over us like as will generate a lot more income than our friendly.

This is outragous, I'd already booked hotel rooms and train tickets. This was the one game this season I was looking forward to and they've cancelled it for Man Utd reserves just because of the owner's connections.

I'm trying to tear up my season ticket card as I type.

I was going to attend just so I could bring my half and half scarf I purchased from that chancer Manc outside of the Vic before the FA Cup tie.

It will have to stay above the mantle piece for now.

Whip round. I heard the FDE have already shelled out for 300 shell suits.

As a Salford fan I'm bitterly disappointed - and somewhat aggrieved - that we won't be playing yourselves particularly as this fixture was arranged well in advance. Me and a few fellow supporters were in common agreement this evening that our club has acted less than honourably in the way this matter has been handled. I was really looking forward to meeting up with a few of your supporters for a segregation free game as well as further cementing relationships between our two clubs after having developed something of an affinity following our two FA Cup meetings. What a bummer!
Good luck for the coming season!

Top man, thanks for the post.

If it is the man yoo U21 side, I guess it will be a favour to them which you will probably benefit from in the long run so can understand why it was cancelled. Sad but it's the way of football I'm afraid.

Btw, what are your plans for the ground. New ground or redevelopment and when? a few quid needs to be spent but you realise that.

We played their U21's at the beginning of last season so other than from a publicity/monetary point of view it's not a game that particularly excites me unless somebody like Ibrahimovic made a guest appearance! :liar: Might be an opportunity however of seeing some potential Salford players of the future when they eventually get released by United!

I'm fully expecting a lot of derogatory comments from visiting supporters this coming season regarding our ground and it will be difficult not to agree with most of them. Relatively small improvements have pushed up the capacity to just over 2,000 while we await the arrival of a temporary 500 seater stand. I would love to see the ground fully refurbished but wouldn't at all be surprised at a move to a new purpose built ground sometime in the not too distant future.

SO we have the usual Yes men Pools supporters backing the Salford decision to renege on a fixture in a bid to get a more lucrative game with Serial Shagger Giggs and his merry men and a Salford supporter who comes on to apologise for his club's despicable decision.
Only on The Bunker ...

If I were you I would keep your photo on the mantle piece. That will keep the kids away from the fire

Mr Henry, why did you wait so long to make this post?
The Salford fan who posted seemed genuine in his comments and disapointed the game was cancelled, so I'm sure all Pools fans will wish said poster and his team good luck to the forthcoming season.

PS Giggs has left Man Utd well before your post! Just saying like!

Giggs may have left Man U but he is a joint owner of Salford City. Like i

Why were both teams playing in Blue Shirts, shorts and socks? Not only confusing but against the laws of the game. I put it to you your Honour that that is the only contentious issue here! Oh apart from both teams wearing stockings!! No mention of the colour of the suspenders!

That Fitouri has an interesting story. Only ever played football for fun until last year. He's never played a professional game, has played 1 non-league games but has played 3 international games.
