I think it'll click for us tonight and we'll crack on with a 3-0 win..

That would be nice.

The knock out games so far have seen teams who excelled at being tight and organised during the group stages being beaten comfortably so far. Certainly this was the case in Germany v Slovakia and Hungary v Belgium. An early goal would be a bonus given Iceland will have to then come out and attack. You might even see them commit more men to an attack from the start as Hungary did last night.

If they dominate possession as they have done in all 3 group games they should emerge victorious. Should.

I fear our lack of passion will be a huge obstacle.

Bricking it for tonight's game, they've got ball all to lose. Against France (if we get through) I think it will be an easier game because they will have an onus on them to attack us which will play right into our hands.

Very nervous. Thinks it's going to be tight, can see them even scoring from a set piece. 3-1.

If Roy goes with the team the BBC have predicted, it certainly won't be a walk in the park.

Sterling's only positive attribute is to run quickly past a full back, he ain't going to get chance to do that with Iceland camped on the edge of their box.

Why the fuck hasn't Roy watched the Germany game from last night to see how to play against this sort of team? Fuck having just Harry Kane in the box. The Germans have four men in their at all times. Get the ball out wide to your Full Backs, not your 'wingers'. Let them whip it in. Get players in the box ffs.

We could probably play tonight's game without any centre halfs and we would win 4 or 5 nil. Cahill and Smalling stuck in our own half with nothing to do other than 'pass to Dier'.

It will be a frustrating evening tonight.

FWIW - Rooney is 16/1 to score from outside the box. I see this as probably our best chance (other than a corner) of scoring the first goal tonight. We will get frustrated, and he will start shooting from anywhere, hopefully one of them goes in.

I won't be surprised if it's a late, late winner again, but England will get through.

Magnificent effort from Iceland to get this far.

I'd be happy to go with the predicted team as put on the BBC.

Walker and Rose back in the team which is a good thing. They should certainly offer a good attacking threat from full back which will be vital given England are likely to have the ball most of the time.

Joe Hart's limp left wrist is embarassing at this level. About on a par with sausage fingers.

Bit surprised to see that the answer to the opposition scoring twice is to take your defensive midfielder off at half time.

I knew it would be a tough game but I thought more along the lines of 0-0. I would never of had them scoring twice. Defensively we are awful and there is no end product up top. Put the two together and this is what you get.

Iceland aren't even defending particularly deep. The technical quality of this match compared to the Italy v Spain match earlier is woeful. If England level here I suspect it'll just be down to an individual pieces of skill because they have simply not functioned as a team.

Apparently....and the same as him taking corner kicks....he's the only one in the squad that can kick a ball 30/40 yards accurately....in a full squad of professional millionaire footballers!!!! banghead

If he's the most accurate we are in trouble!

Rooney is having a stinker as well.

We have looked far worse since Dier went off. Second half has been staggeringly shite, Rooney has been hopeless, Kane even worse.

Fair play to Iceland. Deserved to win and good look to them.

Get shot of Roy ASAP. Hopeless manager. Stood for the entire game with his hands over his face like he was going to cry. Should of went after the shambles at the World Cup.

Can we finally put to be the theory about the premier league being the best in europe.

And that wayne rooney is any good.

He was fucking appalling tonight.

Couldnt pass wind.

And harry kane has become retarded. His legs werent functioning.

Sturridge plays like he couldnt give a shit.

The best player was rashford and most of you lot didnt want to take him

Worst I've seen England play ever. By all means give Iceland credit but we were SHITE.

Fuck this possession footy, lets admit we're shite and setup like Iceland. Pick players who will fight to win and goalkeepers with left hands.
