As we were driving home last night, the first record on Cleveland after they had finished their coverage, was Chris Rea's 'Fool if you think it's over'. I don't know if it was deliberate or not, but there are certainly some more twists and turns to this season before 5pm on the 5th May.

Here's the most suitable cliche I can think of:

'Games in hand are only useful if you win them.'

Walsall will go top if they win. Anything else and they don't.

We will

I'm glad that fate is in our hands again for the moment and that it's up to us to win or lose. You could argue that it's still up to you but with a +4 goal difference and supposing we win 1-0 thrice, you would need to make up seven goals to win on goals scored.

Having said that you're quite right that we have to win today and then match your results from then on. Football has a habit of pulling the rug out from anyone's feet and one distinct possibility is neither of us winning another game all season.

Perhaps we should just give Swindon the title!

Anyway, may the best team and all that but I am proud that both of our teams have made the other one sweat, curse and be sick with worry at various stages throughout the season......

last night with twenty minutes of the match left, I would have snatched anyone's hand off if they said we'd get a point. It was a point gained, we weren't at our best and Notts Co were excellent. There's two teams out there, you can't always dominate and have it your own way.
Certain teams seem to be set up specifically to be able to combat your own team. Notts County are one of those teams.
I couldn't believe how stupid their player was for getting sent off because I'm sure they would have nicked it 2-1 otherwise. However the momentum was well and truly with Notts by then, so we weren't suddenly going to start wave afterwave of attack. Their goalscorer (no 11) was man of the match, followed by Lee, and maybe one or two others of their side before I would name any Pools player for MOM.
We have to take the point, let's face it a win last night and a point at Wycombe would have been viewed as good, so why isn't the other way around as good?

Shame some of the so called "Pools fans" can't instill that NEVER-SAY-DIE mentality that the team have shown so much this season!

Sometimes, just sometimes, I'd rather have 2800 people in there who are GENUINE pools fans giving it their all for 90 minutes.

Some of the stuff going on around us was cringeworthy, I see somebody else (Pete the Pooly) has picked up on it on Rivals.

I heard Monkhouse being called Lazy and Barker described as RUBBISH

FOR f*** SAKE WE'VE JUST BEEN PROMOTED. THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN 100 YEARS.

Having said that, I though The Town End was noisier last night than it was against Accrington.

I see Headlander is at it on the Call Centre and Rivals boards, laughable that he reckons there were gaps on the terrace around HIM eh? Probably the smell of piss and meths....w**ker.

Theres no maybe about it for me Mr Glasses, i'd sooner see The Vic half full of real poolies than a 50/50 split of real fans and bandwaggoners (is that even a word!!)

When the lads ran out last night, me and our old fella went nuts, clapping shouting, congratulating our promotion winning team as they came out (expecting most of the Mill House Terrace to do likewise), but there were large pockets of 'fans' just stood there completely static, no clapping, no shouting, NOTHING.

In fact, the only time they spoke was to come out with things like "i remember why i stopped coming here now", or "typical pools". Piss boiling, absolutely piss boiling

It was the same around us. When they scored some muppet shouted 'Shite Pools' it is a good job I didn't see who it was so I just gave a mouthful back in the general direction of where the clown was stood.
Then my brother, who is a lot more aggressive than me, offered to chin whoever it was if he cared to make himself known, or words to that effect

If you still go where you always used to Fensy, there's a good few who only know the words 'shite Pools.' It's stimulus response, whatever happens they shout 'shite Pools.'

It's what they do instead of sex I reckon.

I brought a mate up from Worksop for the ....oooppss.......Tamworth game and his over-riding memory was of people shouting 'shite Pools.'

Mind, we were that day.......
