sainsburys sell lard and fags as well but it doesnt mean you have to give them to your kids.

I disagree with you. whether you like jamie oliver or not is not the point.what he says about school dinners is absolutely right.

all school dinners?

a programme the other night quoted that after his little dabble, kids having school dinners across britain dropped 30% including the schools giving good meals they ended up at the chippy, corner shop...etc .....

his report was as unbalanced as the meals he was slagging off.......tarring everyone with the same brush just for ratings and a gong whilst making money on the otherside of the coin flogging thre very stuff he was complaing about..........

I really dislike Jamie Oliver. I read something about him a while ago , shortly before the school dinners thing. Allegedly Sainsbury's ad agency were all for giving him the boot and getting someone else in.

Then his agent managed to wangle him the school dinners programme. The campaign had been going on quietly without publicity for years until that programme. Then he steams in and acts as if it's all his idea! Isn't Jamie great, he's saved the nation and all our children! And what do you know, he's back in favour so now we have to endure his fat, smug, public school face during adverts as well now.

One day I hope he's going to be exposed for doing something unsavoury (pardon the pun) which will mean we no longer have to listen to his mockney bollocks any more.

The Hairy Bikers would do a far better school scran than him. I saw one of their programmes where they ate dog, and bulls dicks.

I'm convinced he is a charlatan - a mouthy, talentless talk-himself-up who really needs a proper kicking to rid him of all the crap he's full of. It's not nice to feel so much hate for a fellow man but he really winds me up, I can't explain why.

Oliver was no where near getting the boot, JS had just renewed his contract again

School dinners are still, on the whole, as bad as ever

My sister in law has put their oldest, who is five, on packed lunches, because the rush the kids into chosing and run out of fresh veg quickly and very rarely bring fresh stuff out

Lets be honest, even if kids do eat fruit and veg, left to make their own minds up, 99%, will choose chips

Some schools don't give parents the option to take a packed lunch though, I know that Greatham don't, they say it is because it is only a small school and so many percentage of pupils took a packed lunch it wouldn't be worth them doing the dinners for the rest of the kids

Then, back to school where Amerigo's Ice Cream Van used to park, INSIDE school, for ket.

You must be Posh!!!!

I did the same....after selling my dinner ticket....but could only go as far as a packet of Monster Munch with a Stottie!!!! :sweet:
