It really has lost all of its interest hasn't it. Not a single post before or after the match (unless you include this one).

Maybe part of the answer is in the title of this thread.

You're not wrong especially with the sponsor. Did the kick off time not always be 3pm also?
Events like the grand national appear to draw more interest and I suspect it's down to them sticking with tradition and not passing about changing everything.

The Grand National changed its start time this year.

They surely killed it when they put the semi finals at Wembley as well, diluted the 'big' day. Even for the fans of the teams who are in the final, it's the same journey, the same experience. Bah!

So many reasons, giving Man Utd a bye a few year back made a mockery of it. Throwing so much money at the Premier League means less interest from club sides in the FA Cup, to the extent they often field weakened teams.

It used to be the highlight of the season but now the championship playoff final generally offers more excitement.

Funny how winning the Cup was the big thing at one time. In come the money makers to make it better for themselves and it was never quite the same.
Funny the things you remember as it once was, I liked the teams coach trip to Wembley from their hotels......Probably still preferable to the pundts bollox.

To be fair golf must have a thirty year lead over footy for it all being about the money. I removed it from my list of watchable sports when every single putt was accompanied by a comment about how much this was going to cost if he (there weren't any rich women's competitions around back then) bungled it.
