It looked the correct decision the bizarre thing is how long they took to get to it you clearly saw the linesman thought it was a goal, the keeper was having a go at his defenders not the officials. It could have only been the referree who had said to the linesman that he thought it was offside because Hooper didn't touch it, a very brave and very good call in front of 35,000 Wednesday fans going ape shit if only for such a strong ref 11 years ago!!!

Brighton didn't really show up for their two most important games of the season. Sheff Wed deservedly looking likely to make the final and probably my favourites to win promotion.

Brighton have been massively unlucky on the night as well though to lose four players to injury and to have to play a third of the game with ten men as a result is a bit freakish. Impressed with Wednesday though they played some lovely football in the final third, I'm not sure why they brought that big spud on though (who looked hopeless) when they were creating chances with clever link up play.

thats play off for you. Must be terrible blow for teams like Brighton, Accrington, who were in promotion spots on and off from easter onwards. I would think teams who came up on the outside would have advantage in this situation, momentum and all that.Stats please...

Think I saw stats and it's generally the top placed team that takes it followed by the third, second and forth in that order.

Yeah I think I read that theory was a bit of a myth.

This tie isn't over Brighton have been hammering teams at home lately it all depends on what sort of team they can put out I suppose. Sheffield Wednesday could have made a fatal error scoring the second goal and taking the most dangerous lead in football into the second leg.

It did appear to be Brighton's best players to get injured. With Stephens and Dunk already out it will be a huge effort if their other injured players don't make the return leg.

Might be wrong but I thought I read that every 3rd/4th/2nd placed team (top play-off spot) won promotion last season from the Championship through to the Conference.
