If any of you gayers have nowt better to do tomorrow night, Greatham Under 18s have a match.

They are Playing Great Ayton under 18s,and if they win or draw, they are the TJFA Division One Champions.

The match is being played at Brierton. 6:15pm kick off.

I expect all of you Sunday league managers to be in attendance as these are likely to be the next batch of players helping to keep your teams going. And are probably already better players than your current lot. :-D

So dont be moaning about lack of players if you dont get up there and see for yourself whats available for next season.

You have been warned. :icon-twisted:

What if I'm at work?

I see Durham Fa are looking to introduce a under 23 league. That'll help Sunday football no end!

You wont be at work.

And yes the under 23 league is happening.

And about time too.

There was talk of an under 21 league last year, but it didnt happen.

Most of the players are going to Uni, so are more likely to be home weekends and play sunday league.

There are some good players amongst them.

you already have one of them.

And 6 others would be ideal for you.

and if its true that many teams are packing in, then these lads might just be the furure.

Too many teams fail to attract the youguns coming through.

Too many teams alwaysjust kept the samelads till their legs felloff.

Will the Greatham youngsters not be signing for the Greatham Sunday team?

I think teams try to attract the young uns but sometimes they just don't want to play. We've signed at least 10 lads in last two seasons who've come from under 18/ junior teams.
Bar the odd exception they turn up sporadically normally letting us down last minute after saying they are definitely turning up all week.

I doubt it.

If Greatham Sunday team was remotely interested in them I would have thought they would have been touting for them already. But it seems Sunday league teams dont go looking for younguns like they used to.

I suspect none of them want to play for them either.

Decent 3-1 win for Greatham, was a good game and they have some decent players, especially going forward they look dangerous.

To be fair they were only at half pace. All 16 players got equal time on the pitch meaning they made about 10 substitutions.

Was a good game though. Bit unfair on great ayton.

As it turned out they didnt even need to draw though.

Only hartlepool team to be 1st division champions at any age group this season.

Big thanks to their managet jimmy wright who has run teams for 11 seasons now. And at last had real success.

A great season with a fantastic bunch of young and gifted lads. Some are destined for a future in the game providing they get the breaks they deserve.

Yeah Great Ayton worked hard but seemed to tire in the last 10 minutes when Greatham pushed up the pitch further and had them penned in, the 2 goals in the last 10 mins came from good pass and move, especially the 3rd goal which was finished with a great overhead kick! Big step up though for those moving into Sunday mornings when they will get less time on the ball and less space against players who will give them no respect. Good side though as a team and they would do well if they stepped into Sunday league as a club, will be interesting to see how they do as individuals like.

I know all of these lads and most of them are off to university.

One of the critisisms levelled at them this season was their lack of aggression.

They were easily the best footballing team in the league but far from the hardest.

Most teams had a couple of chewy bastards.

Greatham have none.

Dont think they would enjoy the sunday league.

Incorrect. Hart FC went unbeaten in winning the Russell Foster under 12s First Division.

Well done hart fc nonetheless.
