Is this acceptable in the modern game?

He might be playing for them next season you never know!

I fail to see the issue its sad that he felt he needed to delete the tweet.

Think it is refreshing myself, makes a change from all the hatred in life these days, shows humility and graciousness. I went to watch Blyth yesterday, how dare I , a pools season ticket holder

Adam Jackson is a Boro player from Darlo, I'm sure he was pleased for them and will be if Boro go up. He's done alright for us, more than alright.

I imagine he deleted it because he got loads of daft kids giving him abuse, kids who've probably not even seen us play Darlo!!

I was only gauging opionon rather than passing judgement, on whether is was acceptable for a Pools Player to congratulate an old foe.

Obviously the rivalry between the two is fading. 10 years ago, I think this would have had a different reaction.

I think he should have his contract terminated immediately. Disgraceful behaviour from one of our players.

Without doubt. All the better players at that level seem to be on first name turns anyway.

Good luck to them until they get back to our level. I miss the derby games now...

That rumour has been mentioned on our board too. To be honest I'm surprised that Gray is after another forward considering we have 5 on the books already and 3 of them got plenty of goals last season for us and the other was 2nd top scorer in the league over the season with Buxton then us.

I don't think he's good enough to be starting games for us if we have ambitions of a decent top-half finish, but he'd be a real asset off the bench if we're in need of a goal.

I'm surprised by the grief he's getting [not massively from this board]. Like Moore, he was great for us last season and he got some really important goals, but hasn't quite done as well as perhaps expected this time around.

Personally I hope he stays. If not, I wish him all the best. He worked his arse off for us.

His control and ability to hold the ball up aint good enough for Hignetts style of play.

I think the attitude thing is down to years of playing in the lower leagues where it is a lot more rough and ready. I think if he is released he will be able to sell himself to league two/conference team quite easily, on paper he has a good goal scoring record.

He's got a chewy side on the pitch, which i dont mind, he hassles defenders and gives it back, probably from non league where he will get kicked all over.

I fancy him to leave in the summer but wouldnt mind if he stayed as back up, i think he himself will probably want to leave and play every week though.

He's a strange one Fenwick a real divider of opinion amongst Pools fans, never have I known a player to be as overrated by some either!

His goal against Wycombe showed you what he's good at, got across his marked at the front post and guided a sharp instinctive finish into the back of the net. He'll get goals at most levels because he can do that.

He's the ultimate penalty box player. He can only really play as a striker and he probably can only really play with any play with any effectiveness alongside another striker. When he played wide in a front three earlier in the season he looked hopelessly out of his depth at times. I don't see a place for a such a limited player in what Hignett is trying to build.

I think Conference North could be about right for him, for a team creating chances he will score goals but I don't think he's improved enough to make it in League right now, he's just been at team outside of the play offs in the Conference and couldn't get on the pitch. I like his attitude and the effort he's put into making a go of it here but I'll be not losing any sleep if he's released, I want to see better quality players at Pools next season.

To be fair, Matt Crooks came to us when we were dog shite and couldn't get a game. He's gone to Accrington and just been named in the team of the year for this league. Tranmere fans were irate that Fenwick didn't get a chance as they said he was just the type of player they needed. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go there again next season.
