I collect plenty of vinyl but the one day I hate is Record Store Day.

Wouldn't support it, never have, despite two of my closest mates owning record shops. It's horrible.

Sadly Record Store Day is just another way greedy people can make money on ebay by buying up as many record as they can to sell at vastly inflated prices. Probably have no interest in the aesthetic value or tonal quality of vinyl,

Same bastards no doubt as those that buy up all gig tickets to resale at 5 times the face value.

On Saturday I called in at a few of the shops I go to regularly and picked up a couple of Record Store Day releases that I wanted. I got there fairly early and people were three deep at the boxes and were buying hundreds of euros worth of stuff that looked like it was getting picked on resale value alone. In one shop that was doing a strict one copy per customer rule there were people who seemed to have no interest in anything other then buying off lists.

Pissed me off so I left it for a while and went back later once it had quietened down. All the David Bowie picture discs had gone but the On U Sound, Slits and Taxi 10"s I was after were still there. Says a lot about these vinyl fans.
