Prices frozen and finance option reintroduced, guess we sorted that "licence" issue IOR had last year.

Fantastic news! clappp

Licence Issue my arse. The only issue that lot had was no shelling ANY of their money out in advance of them fucking off. That included spending anything on players. 6 years of decline...tara Unkle Ken from The Kremlin.

I'm in two minds about renewing...

NOT! Can't wait for next season, the first genuine grounds for optimism in yonks.

You can't really fault much the new owners have done since they came in. They aren't Oligarchs or Arab sheiks that is true but I happier about the way the way the club is bring ran than 12 months ago. It appears any extra money that comes in is invested in the team and chairman has shown he's happy to listen to supporters and make tough decisions.

I'm genuinely optimistic about next season for the first time in a number of years.

Starting position wasn't quite as bad but the change under Hignett reminds me of what happened under Cyril Knowles the season before promotion. Suddenly players are playing at, and beyond, what you thought was their maximum level. Very much looking forward to next season.

If Karanka leaves boro in the summer as rumoured is anyone else worried B'ro might look at Hignett? If they go up I can't see it but if they feck it up in the playoffs again they'd be daft to look elsewhere in my eyes. The only real standout option would be Walter Mitty Shithead for me but he'd surely have better options.

There are tens of millions at stake getting into the Premier League. Boro have the best squad in the Championship and a great chairman, so Walter Mitty Shithead would be one of a long list of managers with a proven track record who's be interested in the job.

In real terms, Hignett has achieved almost nothing as a manager at the present time. If Pools are near the top of the division next Christmas, some League One outfits and maybe a struggling Championship side or two will come sniffing. Worry then.

I think Boro fans would be underwhelmed if they appointed Hignett, he has only had 14 games as manager, albeit a very good 14 games I think it's still early days and too soon for him to be poached by somebody else.

I think we'll get a couple of tickets again, after not having them for a long while.
Not sitting in the Mill House again, though, in case we get put next to the terrible pair of 'fans' we had to sit next to, last time we had season tickets. They raved and ranted during every match to an insane degree.

Chip probably knows who I mean.....they sat kind of over his back shoulder and back a bit. Mr grabec and I took turns to have the seat furthest away from them.

I get a seat in the Millhouse but only use it if it's tipping down.

Better to stand - if someone is particularly annoying you can just move out of earshot!

I'd like to stand but if I do it for any length of time, me back seizes up. Not sure why as it doesn't happen if I walk for the same length of time.

Sorry Mr Malcolm and Ms Grabec, but reading this made me hope (for my comedy value) Mr Malcolm said he and his mate moved from the Millhouse coz of the whingy couple a few rows away! Apols but it has tickled my fancy!!!!!

Walter Mitty Shithead's stock must have rocketed. This is primarily his team that is winning the Premier League.

If I were a betting man, and Newcastle go down, I would put money on Walter Mitty Shithead being their next manager.

Mine does the same. I have to fidget to stop it or lean against a barrier.

Currently struggling with the delights of sciatica...one bonus is the medication. Spending most days off my tits at the moment. Or asleep.

My knee is still buggered too.

My body is just crap.

I think we've got him for some time (thankfully). He left last time for the club he loves; can't really blame him for that, but I don't think he'll go back again unless he gets the manager's job, and that's not going to happen anytime soon. As for anyone else taking a punt, he's still unproven. Think of all the other managers we've had who started here and did well. We can argue about why (budget etc...) but Turner in his first spell did a decent job and he was here quite a while before anyone came after him.

Sounds as annoying as the Yorkshire bloke who stands in the mill house that goes on about gardening all game :naughty:

Excellent news re the tickets and, as others have pointed out, the new owners have done their bit to try and install some renewed confidence around the club.

However as tempting as it is to look forward with confidence you can only really tell once the action starts. I was quietly confident that this season would be successful (relatively speaking) but it's only in the last month that we've looked like a team that knows what it's doing for consitent periods of time and assured ourselves of football league status for another season.

But as a start, the ticket announcement sits well with me :-D

What i loved about the article in the football league paper with coxall/hignett is that the club has a philosophy in mind of how it wants to play and recruit and the manager is simply part of that not all of it.

Very similar to swansea and southampton n their mind sets.

If hignett leaves im confident we'd carry on the philosophy with the next geezer.

Like you say i dont think he will for a while yet.

There's a bloke sits right at the back at the very end of the press/camera box, he regularly shouts hypocritical advice to the players and sounds like the cadburys parrot from the advert years ago, it's fair to say he's a bit of a prick.

thats the one

and this bit inparticular

“That’s going to be a big part of the philosophy here now. The chairman here (Gary Coxall) wants an identity – a structure that will last beyond me and beyond any other manager who comes in.

“He’s given me free reign to mould the club and what Dario taught me is what I’ll be teaching here: playing through the thirds, developing young players and giving them a chance in the first team. Then, if we can sell them on for a few quid, great.

“Above all, we want to make it a more attractive place to come and play football.”

Sounds like chorley jack. He's been going for at least thirty years. Chorleys in Lancashire though.

There's loads of odd Pools fans who I don't know by name, but you see all over the country (and at The Vic).
