My nephew had a £2 bet today, a 5 drawer accumulator. The first 4 came in, the 5th being the later game (Liverpool / Spurs).

He cashed out collecting £297 but would have picked up £931. He did back the drawer as well after cashing in and so picked up another £100.

I asked my wife (who doesn't gamble) before the Liverpool game had started what she'd do, to which she said, it's only a £2 bet, I'd roll the dice

Surely cashing in was the right thing, yes sctatchinghead

I did say that the biggest lesson was not to bet on the later matches with an accumulator.

Cashing out always splits opinions.

I regularly cash out if I'm happy with what I'm up on that bet, and also happy that if the results went my way when I've cashed out I'm not disappointed.

I was waiting for barca last night for £120 from a £5 bet. Cashed out for £100 when they were 1-0 up, within minutes they conceded and ended up losing so it was a decent decision.

Stick in there for that one Poolie Les, they've pretty much won it now.

I think it depends on the type of bet. If simple accumulator then let ride if multiple bets, work out what you have with winners you got and see how close it is to the total amount you'd get back anyway and decide then .

The other week at Cheltenham I had a 50p ew lucky 15 they where all fancies of a fella who I was working for and is a pro gambler

the first 3 pissed in at good odds and bet365 offered me £1370 to cash out as I stood to nearly win 10 k

I rang him asking his advice he told me it's a pathetic offer as I was winning about 700 anyway

what he said he could do was put 2k in tge be fair system and if it goes to evens in running take 2k worth of bets and if my horse wins I get 10 k from bet365 but lose 2k with betfair and if it loses I win 2k from betfair and 700 from my original bet !

Sky did a feature about six weeks ago on the people who took Leicester at the start of the season at 5000/1. One bloke who
put £20 on cashed out for just shy of £29,000 after the they won at Man City in February (I think it could have even been January)

Is he a bit gutted now or still satisfied with his windfall?

Without going into the details of how's the best way to realize the windfall, the question boils down to would he have been prepared to bet that 29 grand on Leicester winning the league? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't.

I personally think he's done the right thing, £29,000 off a £20 bet is an incredible return but they are going to actually win it and I reckon to his dieing day he'll sort of rue the cash out. It clearly saves the Bookies money all told as if it didn't they would knock it on the head!

In the case you are talking £70,000!

It's all in the mind innit. I wouldn't regret it for one second. 29 grand? hand the fucker over!

From a mathematical point of view, if he only wanted to win 29 grand he should only have stuck £6 on.

I can understand people wanting to take out some insurance, but amazed he cashed the lot out.

Unless he wanted to win £29,000 and thought they would be top in January, but wouldn't win the league come May.

Using Betfair isn't easy for most, and the idea of laying a bet is quite confusing for your average person who places a fiver on each Saturday.

He probably could've used Betfair to guarantee £29,300, but is it really worth the hassle on a bet like that? That's more a game for a serious gambler.

In response to the opening post - why did he include the late kick off if he intended to cash out after 3PM games had finished? Always baffles me when people do that.

Personally I see no harm in included a later kick off. Always give you the option of locking in profit either way.

I'm guessing when he put the bet on he didn't honestly think he'd win anything at all in which case he should have stuck £0 on.
But, daft bet, 29k to the good, he can go out and enjoy himself instead of shitting himself every time Leicester don't look like winning..

He probably would've won closer to 350 if he just put the 4 games on.. If you have no intention of cashing out then go for it, but if you are going to take your money with 1 game still to play, you might aswell leave it out.

Unless you were a professional gambler or say £29,000 was just loose change to you, surely everyone would have cashed out.

I would have on the bet I mentioned, on a couple of hundred quid, never mind £29 grand bbolt

After watching Leicester yesterday id now be cashing out too. Not sure if the pressure is starting to get to them but they were very lucky yesterday. Their last three games are man u away Everton home and Chelsea away. They could easily lose those games just depends on how they do till then. Hope they do it but if they hit a bad patch now 7 points can soon disapear.
