The whole of the back line was solid. Repelled everything thrown at us.

Bates and Jackson were immense. Bates get some stick but he is an intelligent defender, there was a few times he could have easily dived in but he stood his ground, kept his legs shut and got it away.

Surely You can't drop either if Jones is fit next game.

No way should you tinker with a defence that has kept 3 clean sheets.

And Northern Ireland play Monday so Carson may well be called up again.

All we need is a decent midfield holding player, the ball was getting 'hoofed' from defence but it came straight back, Paynter should have been 'subbed', he was knackered with James playing the central striking role.

I'd be made up for Trevor Carson if he got a call-up. Can do without him for one game, especially now we're as good as safe.

It'd be nice to send a Pools player off to the Euros. Could give him some Duchamps for the trip.
