I'm not voting in protest at the non inclusion of Jason Banton.

If the top three isn't Andrew Boyce, Jason Banton and Ellis Harrison then I'm not renewing my Duchamp membership.

Thanks I'd completely forgotten about Boyce. He was properly dog shit wasn't he? Milk turned quicker. I reckon Harrison would have been good had he not got injured or we could have kept him longer I noticed he scored on Saturday.

Seriously I agree that three but would also include the two long term loan players in Gray and Jackson who have both done well considering it's the first senior football they've played.

I'd also go for Gray at the moment although a little early to be asking the question to be honest.

It's still a mystery to me how Matteo Lanzoni didn't get player of the year last season. Him or Marvin Morgan.

We'll be playing against him at Notts County in a few weeks. That's a game where Luke James must play in the middle - he's always done well against big lumbering defenders.

I think the player of the season should be someone who influences how the team plays as well as being a consistent performer in his own right.

Billy Paynter makes a difference with his link up play as well as his goals, and he's the club captain.

The defence looks more organised and plays better as a unit when Matty Bates is in the team - Jackson is quality and a great prospect but definitely looks better in tandem with Bates.

Don't think anyone in the midfield has done consistently well, except maybe Hawkins, who hasn't played enough. Gray is quality but not one you notice particularly when Pools are struggling.

I'm worried about the player of the year curse. Over the last few years everyone who won it has either left the club, or been average at best the following season.

It would be a struggle to name any player that hasn't either left the club, or been average at best the following season

Am I right in thinking Harrison won it last year?

I liked that player who came on loan from Boro and never played a single minute. Atkinson?

Shall we have a short term loan of the season debate?

The nominees are:

Magnus Okuonghae
Andrew Boyce
Brad Halliday
Kal Naismith
Mikael Mandron
Luke Hendrie
Ellis Harrison
Jason Banton

Magnus Okuonghae gets my vote.

Bang average centre-back but the way he shook my hand on the platform after we lost to Crawley was textbook fan interaction.

Wasn't he the young right back from Boro, he had a decent game when lots of people thought he was a world beater, then was bang average after that

Was that the guy we had on loan from Luton, if so I saw him make his debut for us at Dagenham when I thought he was outstanding and came on here and said as much :uhoh:

Didn't Hendrie come in from Burnley after Halliday went back?

Fuck knows, the amount of loan players Moore brought in have all merged into one in my head.

I believe that's how Steve Howard was made.
