Did Thomas play on the right then? Crops up on that side a fair bit?

Yes he was, swapped with Luke. CH said it was tactical being that Barnet brought in a right back to counter him on the left.

Paynter looks about as happy as Ivan Nash when Thomas scores the third.

Paynter's body language when he simply turned around and headed in the direction of our celebrating players in the half second he was in shot has taken all of the gloss off the three points for me. It almost feels like a defeat now.

He should be at the very least, getting his cordy out. He's the captain for christs sake.

I have actually watched the goal again and looked at the picture gallery on website to check his body language though  In the pictures in the background of Thomas running away after scoring he is clearly displaying a clenched fist, not the full Walton and possibly understated but a celebration all of the same. Maybe he just had Hawkins & 2-1.

Jake Carrol and Nathan Thomas played major parts in those goals looking at the highlights. Carroll starting to come good?

Carroll looked great today, maybe showing his potential finally? He played a good number of games at a higher level so he can't be as bad as some think.

I was a bit worried when I saw how easy their goal was but it was their only highlight until we were 3-1 up so can't really whinge.
Hawkins' goals were beauts, especially the first. Can't help thinking he's benefited tremendously by learning from a former attacking midfielder in Hignett not to mention a decent run in the side.

Oh and the pitches in the background looked in better nick than the main one.

I was seething at the time the way we stood off but to be fair, he was there best player and was a threat every time he had the ball. Only 18/19 years old I think so probably one for the future for them.

None of the pitches were being used which was odd for a Saturday afternoon confised

The jubilee line tube ran 50 yards behind where we were sat which was also a bit odd.

Some interesting observations from my day bbolt
