Pool fans,

Done a preview of your game against Notts County on Saturday - http://www.TheFootbalLab.co.uk/2016/not ... improving/
Get the sense you've recruited poorly since staying up last season - has Moore made too many panic-buys? Think you'll stay up given your record vs the lesser teams, but from the outside I'm not sure Moore is the man to take the club forward, interested to know what you think.

Cheers and good luck for the rest of the season.

Decent little write up, I don't think it's a case that we have recruited poorly its just Ronnie can't get the best out of them. He pisses about with formations, drops players left right and centre and doesn't even know what his best team is.

Cheers Joe. Do you think then the squad would do better under another manager, or should Moore be given the time to find his best XI?

The squad would do better if they were managed by somebody NOT using "A managers guide to football - 1974 edition"

This.

"Part of the problem is that Moore often asks for signings as a consequence of losing one match. Eight of Hartlepool’s 12 mid-season additions have come following a defeat, while Mikael Mandron and Kai Naismith joined just after a fortuitous FA Cup win against Cheltenham. The danger is that Moore does not trust the players at his disposal and that is not confidence-inducing for those responsible for retaining Hartlepool’s Football League status."

Well deduced Gabriel. Now fuck off.

You are spot on in your write up Gabriel. Think you'd be hard pressed to find other lower leagues fans with what seems a good knowledge of other clubs' situations.

Ignore the 'fuck off'. It's the traditional bunker welcome.

Thanks AMBB, I like to cover Football League clubs, not many mainstream media outlets do it. How have Pool's new owners been so far? If I recall a lot of your fans were against Hodcroft last season, JPNG an improvement?

They talk the talk but haven't really walked the walk. The talk part is something the previous owners never did and we can follow the chairman's every breathing second on twitter. They are also better with regard to match day ticket deals and at least seem vaguely human in comparison to IOR.

On the other hand, it doesn't appear that they have much in the way of funds and while they go on about shelling out on players, that's all it is, just bluster until it can be substantiated. There's cash available due to all our televised cup and league games but will it be spent? Some fans have doubts that JPNG really own the club. Our old chief exec is still here doing the square root of fuck all and he made it nice and cosy, jobs for the boys for many years and a lot of us are uncomfortable that he's still around. He's associated with mediocrity and must take a lot of responsibility for our decline.

So the jury's out but we're desperate for a clean break. The last six years have been desperate on and off the pitch. Hope JPNG help us progress, we are better than a relegation fighting L2 club. The fans deserve better and have been unbelievably patient.

You have hit on the seasons biggest talking point for me here, Kai or Kal Naismith?? I reckon it's about 50:50 I've seen both used. I'm sure I've called him both.

We need answers.

I'm not going again until I find out his actual name.

Agree you're underachieving. Remember when you were a yo-yo club, would normally go up from the fourth tier but not be able to stay in the third. Seems the club needs a bit more stability, on and off the pitch.
