What's going on over there? £200m spent in their transfer window already and it doesn't close til 26th Feb. Talk of a £57m bid for Oscar in the paper as well.

Recent transfers

Alex Teixeira - £38m
Ramires - £25
Jackson Martinez - £31m

Just shows that money talks, as if they weren't already on enough money then move to China for even more money to play in a shite league.

It's crazy. Money obviously talks, even at the highest level. It's a shame too as they haven't won everything that's to be had. Won't get the opportunity to play in the champions league either!

It's not as if they are in their late 30's looking for one last pay day, they are all in their mid to late 20's and have probably been on average £70k a week for the past 5 years plus all the other benefits and add on's etc.

Exactly. Rather have a few extra 00's in their bank instead of actually achieving something in their short careers.

I can understand why some players do it and go over to the likes of America when they are at their tail end of their career, who wouldn't want to move to LA and play football for a few grand a week. But China when they are in their prime? Baffles me.

Finally the crazy money is moving elsewhere from Europe. Premier teams might start having to develop talent again. The biggest problem with football, at the moment, is that there is far too much money in it and the game hasn't benefited from it at all.

Medals don't pay the bills or help you live comfortably after you've retired. May as well chase the money in what is a very short career. Even Marlon Harewood made some decent cash playing in the Chinese second tier!

No different to what English clubs have done over the past 20 years.
