Hope he does well but has less experience than Walker ................ now is Brad staying or going as he is the only midfielder other than Gray who can score!

If he stays send him on 2x 10 mile runs Tuesday and Thursday and 1 x 10K Wednesday with shooting and passing practice Friday and put him in the team after telling him to have 6 pints on Friday night of ............................................................. tap water!

He's a physical midfielder who must have some ability to have moved up the leagues from Wycombe. Not heard of him but its just the type of player I hoped we would sign. Now let's give him a chance on the.pitch to see what he can do.

He's scored 4 in 12 for there development squad this season.

It say's he knows Gray which may have helped but it shows the difference between a young lad who wants to make it in the game and someone who 'doesn't want to move north'.

Coxall has also tweeted saying "The final one we were working on revalued the deal at FOUR TIMES what we originally agreed! Won't be taken for fools, you deserve better"

Agreed a price and then upped it by 4 times. Very strange. Well least we didn't have to spend any money this transfer window Mr coxall which wont come to a surprise to 90% of the fans. Its going to be some battle to stay in the league this year.

God we have become a cynical lot over the last six or so years! I understand why but we've got to give new players a chance. More controversially for some, I think Coxhall should be given a chance too. I get the impression he was desperate to do things right and impress and I'm sure he's learnt abit about football ways over the last few weeks.
It's been a brutal month for him judging by the grief he gets on Twitter!

While I'm satisfied by the two deadline day signings the fact is I said I'd judge the new owners by their dealings in January following the TV money. I have to say it's been a hugely underwhelming month. Particularly since both owner and manager have been making noises about getting players in.
Just where has the TV money gone?! If I'm overlooking something please explain Mr Chairman. After a brief read of your twitterings I've seen you're very open about most things but there's no clarity on this cash, just numerous excuses on why deals fell through.
Far from blown away but todays signings mean I'll hold off to see what difference they make and if its a case of same old I'll be expecting a sharp restructuring of the recruitment and management team and less token offers like free mega bus rides.

Good luck Josh. If you are reading this, we've had a shit time over the past circa 10 years hence all the negativity, nothing personal to you.

We are desperate for some success, hopefully you'll be the one to bring it.

Well what a massive u turn from thr TRUST LAUNCH MEETING i / we went to a couple of month ago.

For a club to declare a debt free takeover in July then make a 270k profit by January then invest 15k investment in THOMAS alledgedly is the biggest piss take ive known in 40 years of being a Poolie!

I take it in your world when you sign a player the question of classing wages as expenditure never crosses your mind...? You have the mindset of someone who sees big piles of cash to be spent immediately on anything for the sake of spending it.Oh dear.

Ahh so James and two kids just making it in the game combined wages will cost the earth? That's us logical thinker's mistake right there! James is on loan and even if we're paying the full amount of his wage for 3 and a bit months it's going to be less than £15k.

I'm not disappointed with the signings, just underwhelmed after the noises made by the club. Now Coxall is talking about a Championship player on loan when the window opens, I'm willing to see how that pans out but I won't hold my breath after numerous failings already. He does sound like he's making the effort but I'm worried it could be his lack of experience in the game that might be hindering our efforts. Ultimately that could be what costs us our place in the league, let's hope not.

No what will ultimately cost us our place is the inability of Moore to get the best out of the squad. This squad, pound for pound, is better than last season's, staying up shouldn't be a problem...

I don't think anyone is stupid enough to expect that.

My dismal mindset is more along the lines of: "We're in the shit with a realistic possibility of relegation and were lucky enough to benefit from X amount of money. Why not spend a reasonable amount of X in an attempt to avoid relegation which could cost the club Y."

We've signed a young winger who appears to have some quality; we've borrowed a striker for three months who we already know has a lot of quality, and we've signed an unknown quantity in the hope of strengthening an area that needed it. We've also secured the services of a decent defender and midfielder for the rest of the season. That's not a bad window as far as I'm concerned, especially given that I believe we already had enough in the squad to be comfortable. Moore will have no excuses if we continue to struggle. And there's still funds available should he (or someone else) need it in the summer. That'll do for now, and I look forward to seeing Laurent and the return of James.

Good post, and I totally agree. There's no point in just spending the cash for the hell of spending it if you can't get the right people. I'd much rather save it for summer.

Yes impatience is the only reason people want the club to spend the money on players!

Not the cash that has previously gone into the "administrative costs" blackhole under the same CEO!

Keep hearing the squad is good enough, is this the same set of players who were totally outclassed by Salford over two matches bar extra time.

We've had big cash injections over three seasons now and are once again in a relegation fight for conference. When is the right time to pay a decent fee for a couple of experienced players? When we reach Conference North.

The league table suggests it isnt good enough.

Or if it is then the manager must be horrifically poor.

We'll have to wait and see but if Laurent adds some bite and mobility to midfield, Thomas proves to be a creative spark going forward and James combines well with Paynter then the club will have made three very good signings. Exactly what they spent trying to do that we don't know but there has to be an argument for not spunking your budget unless you can get proven players that involve negligible risk.

If players of that qulaity were out of reach this window then getting some riskier, cheaper options for the time being isn't the end of the world.

Thing is, we could have spunked 100k on the Conferences top striker, it wouldn't guarantee that he would be any good. There's no guarantee that spending money means getting good players

This for me. We've been far too soft in the centre for far too long. Missing a Murray or Boland type in there. Hopefully he'll fit the bill.

No but by good scouting and analytics you can see who could/should/will be good buy them and sell on at a profit.

We have the Managers Son as a scout!

Getting players released by Brentford the leading club in the country for scouting/anyalytics doesn't inspire confidence.

I'm also thinking Ellis Harrison and Luke James could be a good pairing. Ellis had lots of the ball before being crocked at Cambridge and had two good efforts on goal. Luke may be the player to snaffle up his knock-ons.

I'm looking at the squad and, on paper at least, it looks healthier than it did a month ago. Why the insistence from some people that we needed to spend more money? I think of some of the very best players I've seen at Pools over the years, and how much we've spent to acquire their services. It's a bloody low number.

i'd also question what wages these guys were paid in comparison to now.

i don't think any fan is slagging the signings we have made off; it's more the fact chairman and manager shout about how they will be spending cash and then it doesn't happen. Do we honestly believe its going to be spent in the summer when it wasn't spent this month?

People are saying how james and harrison could be this but they are both on LOAN. they are not our players and this is why every season we end up back in a position of being unable to do anything other than struggle at bottom. Loans should be used to boost squad when needed, not relied on just to put out a team which can scrape results to stay out of bottom 2.

it's going to take a long time to rid whatever rut we are in but moore has made 20+ signings and the results are poor. Never keeps the same personnel or formation for a number of games and genuinely has no idea with his tactical decisions and substitutions in a game. at any other club, he would be under severe pressure. Look at all the clubs around us; they have all at some point made a managerial change this season.

We have the players available to win more games than we lose, the problem is not the squad, its the manager picking the wrong players and system.

Yep, the Football League is scrapping the emergency loans system from next season after pressure from UEFA. It will still be possible to arrange loan deals pre-season or in January but they'll be for 6 months or a year. The rest of the season managers will actually have to manage with the squad they've assembled.

If that had come in for this season, Gawd help us. Ronnie gives the impression that his only solution to a bad result is to get a new lad in on loan.

Making the large assumption that Pools stay in the League, for next season we need someone in charge who can put together a balanced squad of players before a ball is kicked in anger and then concentrate on getting the best out of them.

Coxall is quoted as saying

“They are saddling you, if, for example, you have all your right-backs out injured then tough."

FFS we'll never shake this RB problem, this is why we always need at least 13 right backs.

Thanks MJ, my thoughts precisely but I could never have put it so eloquently. I would add however, at what point does Coxhall decide that Ronnie is still struggling or not sctatchinghead

The Stevenage chairman was brave enough to realise that his team could easily get dragged into a relegation battle and has fired Sherringham. We escaped last season and as I have said before, another near miss/escape is just not good enough. Time to move on now IMO, so that whoever is brought in has time to make changes to the way the team are playing (as I also don't believe the squad is that bad) and more importantly, give us a platform to take into next season.

We may escape the drop again with Ronnie but can see us being in exactly the same position next season is he stays confised
