In my lifetime of supporting Pools what have the following all in common Newton Poskett Houchen MacPhail Tait Dobson Dixon Boyd and now James.

Of those only arguably Houchen was a partial success?

well done Mr B. The real hidden question is the old saying in business never go back .............. we never learn. Saying that I wish Luke James well as he really ran his heart out for Pools and I hope he bucks the trend . he is at least 10 years younger than any of the other luminaries mentioned.

Iron lung arguably only scored 1 goals that mattered and i recall did Bakes not get a goal somewhere in one of the almost relegated seasons.

Yes, he saved our arses at Shrewsbury by putting in the rebound from Denny Ingrams saved penalty. He also scored in the 3-0 home win over Scarborough when we HAD to win.
