I found The Da Vinci Code fillum to be a bit of a let down, loved the book, but the fillum didnt quite cut it.
Come to think of it, most fillum adaptations of books are utter gash! :uhoh:

Freddie Forsyth's book do tend to make a good film though:

The Day of the Jackal and The Fourth Protocol were exceptional as was the Odessa File (Angelina Jolie's dad) that said, the Dogs of War was a bit of a let down.

You're right, I cut and pasted in the wrong place. I meant to say that it was a let down like Dogs of War.

Fourth Protocol was a good book as was the Negotiator. Dogs Of War didn't date well and ended tamely. never read or seen Day Of The Jackal.

Da Vinci Code was bloody awful. Not a scrap of credence in it at all. Even as fantasy it was poor.

I wish I could say that just so I could rush out and buy it. It s the best book in the history of the world. Forsyth's very best by a long way.

Yes, he is slightly right wing. He once wrote a column for the Express slagging off Vlad the Impaler as being a lily livered social worker.

Does anyone really trust 13 blokes in beards, dresses and Freddie Mercury tashes who's leader tell them constantly that they must 'love him' ? To add insult to injury he ends up indulging in some fairly extreme S&M.

As far as I'm concerned It's a bit Elton John.

Ah yes, The Odessa File. That bit where the Belgian bloke gets shoved in the car and they casually break all his fingers before they've even spoken to him was a bit of a bum clencher.......
