Need a new company car and unfortunatly I cant get the same Audi a4 I have always had as downsizing the range so can only get a a3. Anyway I want an estate for kids and stuff for work. Looking at list I can have the following which is a similar size to my car;

- Mondeo estate
- Passat
- Skoda Suberb

Does anyone have these and what are they like? Also any petrol heads on here have any views I am going to test drive them but looking at reviews they are all much of a muchness with the skoda being bigger and the Passat overall better.

Mondeo is a superb car. Depends on whether your snob level will allow you to put up with the blue oval. Which model are you looking at? Zetec / Titanium etc? I had a Titanium X on a demo and the dashboard is like a spaceship.

Passat.... good car but what about the emissions? too much uncertainty for me.
Skoda.. same car and being VW its got the same emissions concerns.

Thanks I have a choice between the Mondeo Titanium 2.0 Duratrq TDCi 150PS ECOnetic or the same equivalent Zetec. I dont care about the snob value and just want the best overall car I can, fuel isnt an issue i get that with work. So just want the comfiest, biggest and easy to use car with DAB and Sat Nav thats it really. Looking at the tax level all will be in the same bracket anyway

None are bad cars. If you were spending your own money I'd say Skoda>VW>Mondeo.

But if the cost in tax is the same and all 3 have 2.0 Diesel engines then go for the one with the spec that works best for your needs, DAB & Cruise Control would make my choice easier.

As soon as the VW emissions thing hit the press our company returned 210 VW Passat Estates and replaced them within two months with BMW's. Because of the haste/speed/panic over this, some of the BMWs we needed weren't available at such short notice, so some of us have ended up with "Bewers Cars" temporarily.

BMW 116 EDs...

Fucking gutted...

Two of them are built by Germans so don't expect too much in the way of free toys. For obvious BIK reasons the emissions DO matter.

The reality is that its impossible these days to buy a bad car. All three of these are excellent cars and if the tax is comparable them the only decision really is which one do you prefer.

Surely that'snot true of the little uns? I had a Ford Ka as a courtesy car for a day just before Xmas and thought it was a horrible. Some other cars in the same class are much better.

As previous have said Skoda Superb. If you are tall there are masses of leg room still left behind the drivers seat for passengers and equipment level is very generous. A6 luxury for a Skoda price and the estate can swallow a huge amount of luggage.

I've never met Compo but his diminutive stature is so well established on here that I'm assuming whatever car he picks he'll be this tiny body with an adult sized head strapped into a special booster seat.

No disparaging references to Moores, Collins or the chairmans choice of car.....very surprised. Now do tell us more about your large barge experience, we can compare notes.
