I was at the game last night and have to agree Moore's tactics were truly abysmal. The worrying thing is that while it is obvious things are going tits up Ronnie seems incapable of changing things till it is too late.
But far worse than Ron was the performance of our alleged centre back Scott Harrison. Lumbering around like a drunken sailor struggling to keep his feet two of the goals were down to him.
It would be a good idea today to contact Scunthorpe's chairman as he has sacked his manager and agree a fee for David Miirfin who is available for ptransfer.
That would be making good use of our TV money and tighten our defence up once and for all. We have one of the best keepers in the league but he can't do it on his own.

He got done big time for their second goal, granted a lovely little half bergkamp from the striker, but his feet were too static, made to look very bad.

After the Derby game there were people on here saying great that Harrison is back at centre half, much better than Bates...

Worrying that running straight at the middle of Pools' defence is bringing easy pickings. Butterfield waltzed straight past 3 of our midfielders to get his shot off for Derby's equalizer.

We've looked more solid the few times Magnay has played centre midfield, but his season is turning into a nightmare - he played 42 times last season fror Grimsby in their league, 11 league games so far this season for Pools.

Good that Bates (and Paynter) are back for the reserves, but with Magnay still out I'd think seriously about a 5-3-2 down at Cambridge, assuming Bates is fit to play.

But expect Moore to shuffle the pack again and go 4-4-2, of course!

We don't need to go 5 at the back to combat leaking goals. Jackson, and Harrison in particular, don't like players running at them. They are no less typical than most other centre halves in League 2 in this regard. They both played well against Derby and Wycombe when we had 5 in midfield and gave them some protection.

4-5-1 is the answer, every blind man and his dog know this. Not convinced Moore knows like.

No he didn't he ran across after Jackson had been done by the forward. Least blame the right player

Derby created loads of chances in the cup game and Carson made some outstanding saves. Wycombe played a load of hoofball, cutting out the midfield and playing to Jackson and Harrison's strengths.

I'm not convinced by a central midfield trio of Gray, Woods and Featherstone when it comes to defence. Only Woods out of the three of them can tackle, and he's basically an attacking midfield player, like Gray.

I'd agree that a midfield 5 with Magnay in it is 'the answer' but at the minute Pools haven't got a holding midfield player.

Did the ticket office reserve your tickets for this game or do they only do that for sell outs?

I just assumed Yubep meant to say the third goal - very nice take down by the forward that completely wrong-footed Harrison. To be fair, a bit of quality like that would have done a lot of defenders.

Why do you only ever post on here to correct people?

Stick to the Hartlepool supporters Facebook page Bob, you do well on there correcting people n posting links first.

Your the best link poster in town.

Harrison isn't a Donkey far from it. He's not had his best season like many but their's a good player in there. He's only 22 and certainly has the potential to get better.

I wasn't at the game but listened to it and it sounded like the defence were under constant pressure in the first half due to what was going on in front of them so it sounds a bit harsh to single out one of the centre backs who when offered to a bit more protection have both played well in the last couple of games. Plus both goals from an attacking point of view were outstanding. But Eddie Kyle was saying at half time we had to do something to stop that McCarten running the game as he was playing in between our back four and midfield and constantly getting on the ball in the area he ran to score the first goal from. We did nothing to change things at half time. Same system, same players.

There is an offer on in the club shop he needs to quickly share on the facebook page.

Bob... if people have facebook, and they are on the supporters page of hufc, chances are they follow pools aswell, you dont need to share every single bastard thing pools announce, people will see it! Your not breaking any news at all.
