For Gary liddle. Out of contract in the summer. Still only 29. Would you like to see him back at pools?

He's the exact type of midfielder we are in need of and would be happy to come back to the area.

He'd be a good signing but not sure where he'd play. I've been impressed with Magnay when he's played in midfield if not right back and it'd be hard to drop Woods or Featherstone. For me it's not a priority position to strengthen, we need another winger first of all.

i'm not sure if he's still living up this way, but I see him regularly in Ingleby Barwick.

I also think its a fallacy that every player wants to return to the area where they were born. If I was from Middlebrough and moved away I cant imagine wanting to move back, unless I was living in Syria, and even then it would be 50-50 decision.

You're in the minority it seems as plenty of them fookers move to Middlesbrough!

If I was a pro at that level I'd move wherever the contract was longest and most plentiful.

It'll be his bird n his kid that'll be the factor, she will want to be settled n get the kid in a decent school.

If he's 29 and has any sense he'll be taking his coaching badges and coming back to the north east to maybe try n get in at boro n pools where he is well known would be a smart move.

Not sure. As has been said I would hate him to Nick Magnay or Woods pace and he lacked any pace whatsoever so probably slower now also. Still rated him when he was here though.

I get my hair cut in Ingleby Berwick.

I always really liked Gary Liddle but as has been said earlier I'd rather we improved other areas first.

I agree - Liddle would be a useful signing but I've not been this satisfied with our central midfield for a fair while.

Agree, would be nice to have him back as he can be very useful but a midfield choice of Woods, Featherstone, Gray and Magnay is very decent.

Is Ingleby Barwick well known for top quality haircuts? I always like Gary Liddle as a player but thought his hairstyle held him back. It lacked the vision you need to play at the higher levels.

Funny that, his type are always famed for their flamboyance and style!

What type do you mean? Versatile defensive midfielders?

This is the same midfield that has been bypassed for the whole season (before the Derby game!) isn't it? How two games can change opinions eh!

I'd have him back in a flash. We can't play 4-5-1 every single week, and Liddle would allow us to play 4-4-2.

Featherstone, Gray, Magnay, Woods, Walker are 5 players already fighting for 2 or 3 positions. We also have Bates and Hawkins who can play there as well. Not sure we will be rushing to add new centre mids unless we can move one on to make room.

Mind you Liddle can do a job at centre back aswell and is arguably better than some of those mentioned above. Still think we would need to move centre mids on before bringing new ones in unless we are getting really flash with the cash that we will pay players to play in the reserves.

Some of the same players, yes, but set up differently.

As soon as Moore put Featherstone in the deeper role of the three [Oxford I think], we've looked much, much better. Having someone infront of him like Woods or Magnay who can win a tackle has allowed him more space to play.

Fenwick saying the team spirit is back and the commitment has clearly been there for all to see in the last two games.

Big question is why did it go missing for so long?

I heard there was a massive row about the weather that went on for ages and eventually caused an outbreak of fisticuffs.

Have ANY Pools players cut the mustard in their second spell with us? I can't think of anyone being half-decent since Paul Baker.
