I have just read the above article and to be honest I am a bit puzzled that an unelected spokesman can condemn the actions of a Pools player without knowing what has gone on. We have already had a variety of views on this board one giving a first hand account about how inconsistent FA disciplinary panels can be.

I don't see the upside of the Trust feeding the Mail soundbites and giving them an comment to go alongside a piece on any Pools news. Whilst the Trust shouldn't exist to appease Pools giving the "Trusts" views on such issues when the club have backed our player isn't going to improve the relationship between the two and has very little upside for the Trust IMO.

The "Trust" has already supported the decision to ban booze on trains for York with no consultation and no history of trouble in the last 2 years we have played there. I neither support this idea nor the idea of the trusts decision to support it. Why should Pools fans be victimised in this way whilst 100s of morons every weekend are free to booze on these trains.

Maybe the supporters Trust would be better served raising concerns around Pools' close ties with Niramax and affiliated companies.

Really pissed of with The Hartlepool Mail here. I was NOT interviewed as a "spokesman of the Trust", I was interviewed as a fan. Email has been sent to them, watch this space. The Trust was not mentioned at all in the course of the interview.

I guessed as much when I read the article.

Unless I'm mistaken it's all gone quiet on the Trust front. What's happening next?

Are you condoning his behaviour as a result of him being "proven" or do you have other knowledge?

I think Phil has just said what a lot of people have said in the thread to be fair, if he's guilty you can't really defend him although from what Pools have said the case seems far from black and white.

Are the trust really responsible for trains to York being dry? They have been on every Saturday for a few years now haven't they Pools game or not? The damn trust, I suspect they have something to do with the refugee crisis as well the bastards.

Yeah, all my fault. Tell you something, it's the last time I speak to The Mail, or anybody else asking for an opinion. Can't wait to be retired from all this to be honest . Game over.

I said the Spokesman of the trust was quoted in an article backing the decision to have dry trains which he was, but feel free to twist what I said to suit your pedant agenda

I was just wondering if you had any other info on the incident. If he has done it then he deserves all he gets. Why anyone would want to spit at someone else is beyond me.

I was half joking I don't have a pedant agenda, but whatever the trust says isn't going to make a difference anyway as like I said York trains on a Saturday are dry all of the time whether Pools are playing or not.

I thought they were only dry on the way back I remember a specific directive that the trust supported in the Mail.

I cant find article so I may be wrong.

It was another item where I was quoted as a "Trust Spokesman", but interviewed as a fan.

Listen, I hope I've made my position clear here. The Mail called me for a sound bite as a fan, but they've quoted me as a "Trust Spokesman".

As a result, it will be the last time I give them any sound bites! Easily solved.

Oh I didn't realise you meant both times it is a non issue then and we can delete the thread, I only wanted to raise my concerns over it.

It's happened about 6 times in total!!! Never mind two. As we were setting up the Trust Working Party, I was the one responsible for the Press stuff...The Mail decided that I was "Trust Spokesman".

Now, every time they want a sound bite they ring one of about 5 people. Sadly, every time they ring me, they are still using this "title".

The only way to stop it, seems to be to stop it. So I will!

Very poor, lazy and unprofessional behavior from the Mail here. Is anyone surprised?

The Mail still aren't mentioning Niramax by name are they and disabling all the comment sections for the articles concerning them.

Journalism at its best

We aren't talking about the Hartlepool Mail anymore are we. The journo that called me yesterday was on an 0191 number, and it's printed in bloody Sheffield...

Until not so long ago it would be the likes of Roy Kelly or Martin Neal ringing me..Pools fans who knew the stories before they ran them, and knew the supporters of the club too.

It's a far cry from being a Hartlepool paper nowadays...

I will be very surprised if they reply, I have emailed them on several occasions and not even an acknowledgement, best to make a comment in the 'Have Your Say' column explaining that it was your personal opinion and not that of the Trust.
