How on earth do we get to 50 points with this side? Why don't we first of all give ourselves a chance. 3 home games and 3 times we have taken the forwards off, when we could possibly have won all 3. Defensively dont let Richards or Harrison anywhere near it. Richards had a good second half against a rank poor Newport team and basically that's been his pools career. Harrison was embarassingly poor last year but is now deemed good enough again. Hence another 6 goals going in our net. Get some young energetic tacklers in midfield. They cant do any worse. How many more times do we need to be over run before the penny drops. Finally if hignett has sense he wont keep making paynter look like the scapegoat. One of our only players who regularly scores. We need to muster some points till January before we sign some proper midfielders and a central defensive pair who know what their legs are doing.

A You don't know because you weren't there

He was the only one of our back 4 yesterday that had a tackle in him.

He is the least of the worries at present, more concern is having 4 centre halves on the books who wouldn't get a game for Boro Reserves. At least three of them shouldn't be on a contract

Tend to agree with Valiant about Richards - he did try - but even he was pretty poor.

The whole back 4 have been poor all season bar Toto against Notts County.

But Richards has been appalling for years, he might not be 'just' the problem at present. But whatever wages he is on could quite easily have been invested in someone else and you can add Brad Walker to that list & Sam Collins with this training of our younger players.

We've also got Parnaby on the payroll when we already had a full time fitness coach and physio. But I'm sure his experience of injuries will prove invaluable.

We've got a limited budget so we need to maximise what we spend this on. I for one would rather an experienced tough tackling midfield player than Collins, Parnaby, Richards & Walker on our payroll.

We always looks better with Hawkins in midfield than on the bench imo.

Why do I need to go to yet another away game to realise Richards isn't anywhere near good enough. He has had chance after chance. Did he have a good game then? The whole of the defence isn't good enough but some have had way more chances than others.

Cant disagree about Richards, i couldnt believe he got kept on in the summer, he, along with Harrison are non league players and Carroll needs some competition.

Richards was superb against Newport, he didn't put a foot wrong. A week later he's the fall guy.

The makeshift defence was terrible on Saturday but overall I think Richards has done o.k. However now that we have players back I think Magnay should be reinstated at full back and perm any two from Toto, Jones, Bates and Donnelly at CB. Not sure about the rest or the formation but I would like to see Hawkins, Featherstone, Allesandra and Thomas in there somewhere.

I wouldn't blame Richards for yesterday, he didn't directly make a mistake for any goal unlike the rest of the back 4 (Carroll at fault for 2, Magnay 1, Harrison defiantly 1, possibly 2). He isn't good enough but he did put the ball in for our goal and for some reason we allowed him to be exposed against two very quick players every time.

It does make me wonder about the likes of Pollock, me may be young and inexperienced but at least he is a cb. I've only ever seen him play twice for the reserves but Higgy felt he was good enough for a deal.
