The bloke also said exactly the same as me when asked about the short notice of arranging transport...but said the decision was made by the police yesterday

It's cutting it very fine for buying tickets......we've got a friend who wants to come but he isn't on the data base. Anyone know if we can take his ID along and get him registered or does that have to be done personally? He lives too far away to call himself and obviously we don't want to end up with separate seats which might happen if he did it by post

Well, took your advice with a sinking heart, but actually managed to get through to a nice helpful lady.
However the bad news is that the answer to my questions seems to be 'yes and no' or perhaps 'yes and perhaps'. Possibly.
Fact is the club have been told very little but looks as tho you can take down someone else's ID but would probs still have to queue 2ce for tickets if season ticket holders have priority (which might or might not be the case).
So, there you go, really....

Well, the woman I spoke to said they didn't know yet what the priority was going to be so hopefully it will turn out OK.
(There's a first time for everything after all  )

for an away league match, there's no guarantee that season ticket holders have been going to every away game though, is there? It would be WRONG to give season ticket holders/regular home fans priority.
What if I produced all the stubs from away games and have been to twice as many away games as the average season ticket-holder? (PS I've been to every home match bar one this season in any case) -
Who has attended more away games? Who should get priority for away tickets?
It HAS to be first come first served for an away match , exiles especially would feel hard done by - those people who go and cheer the lads at away matches when any support helps the team when we are miles away, and when the majority of home fans (season tickets included) haven't travelled. Why should they be pushed out at this stage?
I hope I've made my point!!!!!!

I agree with your point Parmo, there are many season ticket holders who dont go to away games,as for whats going to happen Friday, thats anybodys guess,it wouldnt surprise me if they gave priority to Tesco club card holders.

Mr K Radforty

That's my Tesco Club Card number and seeing we've only got one in Beijing which is a pretty daft journey for a pint of milk and some Taste The Difference Prawn Ring anyone is welcome to use it.

By the way, they've got my second name wrong but I've never told them so don't say owt, right?? :sweeeet:

Won't be many exiles going to Rochdale then as they don't go on general sale till Friday. How many threw away their Accrington stubs not knowing that they need them to get tickets early. This is madness banghead banghead

I guess you're right ..when it comes down to it it's hard to say who should have priority. Because after all, season ticket holders AND away supporters are people who have the time and money to follow the team, whereas not everyione is so lucky.

The obvious solution is to arrange things so that everyone who wants one should have access to a ticket.....can't be all that difficult. Can it?

Insanity!

By the way, did ANYBODY keep their stub from Accrington?!

Of course not...so there will be no queues at all that day...they might as well bring all sales forward a day. Then at least people will know where they are sooner

Well said Parmo, what a feckin performance this is!

I've been to 5 home games this season and 15 away games (including Rochdale in the cup) so I don't see why I should miss out on a Rochdale ticket like. I'll be at the 3 remaining games and fortunately I've kept me Accrington stub and will be at the Vic this Friday, but a big thank you to the idiots at whatever police force it is (greater manchestoh?) for not having the basic common sense to make a decision on this game at the right time. A great example of why people have no confidence in the police.

The Police have made this decision a week and a half before the game, plenty of time. The fault likes at Clarence Road, they are the ones who have decided on this insane ticketing system.

Righto I see - being a bit slow there.

What a hideous stinking mess - you'd actually have to try hard to achieve this degree of cock up. Staggering.

what I can accept is not getting a ticket in the free-for-all. I WILL NOT accept not getting a ticket because priority has been given to others for no good reason.
Why don't I get special treatment for frequently being one of only ten or so fans at away matches at Exeter, Swansea etc when we were fu-ck-ing sh-ite??????

not to be a clever 'lovely lovely person' but I am sat here in Pembroke with an Accrington stub right next to me Wycombe one in my wallet, I will be home for Fridays game but back here Sun pm, I will then be back in Pools only after the Rochdale game. So despite being anal and keeping my stubs I am still in a pickle.

I have always kept tickets from gigs / games, it is just the type of retentive I am.

With 3k tickets all tickets should go on sale together, no question and that should be Fri night and before and after game on Saturday.

It is purely the police trying to keep the attendance to a minimum and the club is doing nowt to stand by its' loyal fans, who they have been banging on about all season as being great.

A 20yr apprenticeship watching some terrible football and I may struggle to be at Rochdale even though there will be 1500 tickets unsold. I cannot put into words the frustration.
Not to mention the frustration of whoever has to queue for me next week !!

The club are accepting postal applications and you could pick them up at Rochdale

yeah like such a retentive as I could rely on that happening for such an occasion.

Apparently what you can do is leave your stubs, payment and a stamped addressed envelope so when the sales start for the stub producers they can process it and post it to wherever you are.

The club has replied ot me about this, so fair play in a way.

I would advise every one to turn up regardless of tickets, storm the turnstiles and without doubt invade the pitch. rolf
