Was there guy offside then in the first half when he got through and shot wide?

I was more or less in line with it, the assistant wasn't, and that was the case a few times in the first half. I would say he was. A woeful finish considering he was given a get out of jail card.

If I was going to make a choice about who to believe between someone who was 70-80 yards away and looking from the wrong angle or someone who was just about in-line and looking right along the line I think I would go with the latter. Overall they get a very high percentage of decisions correct, even when faced with very fine margins and in a split second - and no action replays like the 'experts' have.
