"Trial trio Fergus Bell, Leon Dawson and Johnny Giles will have the chance to impress"

Are things that desperate we are relying on a 74 year old former leeds player?

Leon Dawson seems to be a left sided defender, Fergus Bell plays in central midfield.

I defy you to find anything on this Johnny Giles.

Dawson a left back but cant find anything on Giles, presuming he a centre mid by players in that team.

Maybe all carrying knocks? On the plus side we have got two sides out, missing 6 players and still hoping to sign a winger and then we have loan signings too.

I'm looking at that list of names and none of them connect. I haven't a clue who is who. I give up.

Perhaps Bartlett to play a half tomorrow instead of giving a pointless 30 mins each keeper tonight. Woods and Jones are still recovering from surgery and Green had a knock it said in the mail today.

Stuart Parnaby? That is a joke right?

I bet he knocks up more games in these friendlies than he did for us as a (massively overpaid) player

I think the chances of Ronnie signing Parnaby are about 0%.

cant understand the parnaby situation. weve already got 3 right backs in the squad so why do we need to risk giving a player with his injury record a contract. even if by some miracle he stayed injury free, is he even going to get in the team?

We all know by now the league requirement for right backs is 6.

We're not giving him a contract. He is training with us to keep his fitness up

Can understand that part, but seems a bit over and beyond playing him in matches to help his fitness

Keep?!
If he's at a standard worth keeping at after last season then I'll join Mo Farrah on his next jog.

I reckon it was supposed to be Harrison instead of Parnaby, but that Harrison picked up a knock today and they asked Parnaby to fill in rather than swap other people about if they have already been working together in those teams.

I pleasantly surprised with Fergus Bell, he had some good footwork. Paynter has some good pace as well. Only a run around but see some promise there.

Did we not win 9-0 last year with Cooper's less than super troopers !
Maybe a sense of caution folks as the new season approaches.

I agree he was poor. Don't think he beat his man once. Understandable given he's only been with the squad a few days.

The 3 trialists in the first half looked decent, Kudus looked very unfit and didn't do anything. Harry Worley is about 7ft.. That's all I gathered from tonight when I was there.

The number seven (Giles I think) had a cracking delivery on him.

kudus was really disappointing tonight, not the direct runner i was expecting. every time he got the ball tonight he tried to cut inside from the right wing even though hes right footed. should've took the defender on out wide more often, maybe he will do better on the left coming in on his right foot.

agree with the comment about fergus bell. he was great tonight. (assuming he was #4 centre mid)

Just seen a tweet from Richard Mennear about Johnny Giles seemingly enough he is a Durham University Student/Graduate and the Club were asked to take a look at him

Thought Fergus Bell was the best of the 3 trialists but other two didn't have bad games. Bell was quite industrious in midfield and very comfotable on the ball. Of the new players thought they all did well. The ex Dundee Utd guy struggled a bit but it's early days. Thought Nicky Featherstone was the standout player - seemed a yard quicker than last year. A good all-round solid performance at this stage of the season!

Should've scored at least another 4, think a few people are getting ahead of themselves from some comments I've seen (not just on here) It was a glorified training match against pretty much a Sunday league team.

Totally agree about it being against a Sunday league team. Good for the lads to get 45 minutes under their belts and hopefully the same again tonight. Obviously the games against Gatehead, Scunthorpe and Chesterfield will be much more competitive.

Looked alright, skipped easily past a few players with a decent bit of skill. Again hard to tell in this type of game.
