Sat here listening to music....on a downer....etc etc!!!!

But....hanging out the window and a family of 4 walk past....Dad with no top on showing shit tattoos....Mother as rough as a Badger's arse....Boy wishing he had a bike....and Girl about 5 year old!!!!

She looks up at me me and smiles....they all walk past and she keeps looking back at me....I wave....she waves back and then starts skipping down the Street!!!!

Little things like that make it all worthwhile!!!!

I was on a downer....but even typing this has made me smile!!!!

It's those little gestures that make BIG differences Mr Mutley sir. I always read the book "The Silver Sword" to my classes each year. Every year several kids buy their own copy. This year I was greeted by a wee girl called Sophie banging excitedly on the window of the classroom at 8.50. After letting her in, she exclaimed "Guess what I've got in my tray?" She ran to her table and showed a copy of the "Silver Sword" with absolute triumph and pride. "My dad got it for me". Kids are natural at uplifting us when we are on "downers" Mr Mutley.

I've just ordered the book....don't even know what it's about....but if it makes pepole smile I read it!!!!
