Just read a disturbingly believable conspiracy theory about the new owners and our new sponsors and compulsory purchase orders that takes the shine of a very exciting preseason. Maybe the employer's trust is more timely than ever? Someone cheer me up please.

By employers I obviously meant supporters.

The fact it's been mentioned it has something to do with the sponsor who is a housing company based in Hartlepool I think conclusions are easily arrived at.
The new owners got the fans on side and seem to be willing to do whatever they can to please the fans so far bar the new home strip!
If they continued to back Ronnie would a move to a new stadium be a bad thing? I'm thinking more along the lines of a realistically sized liberty stadium than glanford park. It would be disappointing to move from the vic and the centre of town but sometimes financial incentive outweighs sentiment.

the chairman has already stated that the redevelopment plans would not mean moving, he has said he would be happy to write a covenant into any agreement.

In any case, there's plenty of land in hartlepool, why would Seneca be desperate to build on clarence road confised

Maybe they are a small firm but advertising to help grow the brand

Dont believe facebook shite.
Cheaper to upgrade the VIC than move.
Plenty of space to up the capacity and im sure theres somekind of government/council funding for this millhouse masterplan which includes a new 3000 seater rink end.

As for the new owners so far so good.
Maybe a promotion might win over the doubters!

Unless you're selling the land for development and moving to a cheaper area.
I agree mind, the rumours are unlikely. Has the Vic been registered as a community amenity yet also?

Be funny if the new owners are truly genuine and IOR have just made everyone paranoid. They must be wondering what they have to do to win us over. As stated promotion would be a start.

Can't see why anyone would be after that piece of land specifically. It's hardly in a prime location.

Season tickets slowed down to cralling pace at the minute only sold just over 2150 apparently not the big take up I thought we may have had.

The thing about conspiracy theories is that they are not actually theories. The theory of gravity is a theory; the general theory of relativity is a theory; the theory of evolution is a theory. Can you spot the difference?
So if they are not theories, what are they? (write your synonym for "bullshit" below)

See verbalkint's comment on the home strip thread, Seneca has the same owner as Niramax and no doubt expanding, so hopefully it will put to bed that particular conspiracy

It was rumoured a few years ago that a new stadium would be built near the domes in Seaton. I can't see Pools ground being of any value commercially or for building houses, there are loads of empty retail units in the town and umpteen new houses being built. Niramax could want it as a tip, though !!
Hey if the owners and Niramax want to invest in a new ground fantastic for me.

There has been a bit of waste land behind Mecca bingo for years. If anyone were after land they could get that cheaper and without the fuss. I could understand if this was London and prime real estate but there is plenty of more easily attainable land in the town. There has always been negative people. I bet they don't even go to games and if they do they will be the people that complain about every missed pass and shot that happens on the pitch rather than getting behind the team and applauding the good things. The same people who are only ever happy when they have something to moan about. Attentions seekers.

100% agree, absolutely no need to move. Plenty of room to redevelop around the vic and its right in the centre of town. Move it to the outskirts and we could have sub 1,000 crowds on wet midweek games in winter.

Ken was banging on about redevelopment for years and JPNG have said the same thing. It's a sensitive subject but adding say a hotel or corporate facs around the ground can only be a good thing to raise extra revenue.

Say for example there is a ground sale and the new owners plan to develop either the ground or the surrounding area, wouldn't it be obvious for the club to at least consider one (or possibly more) of the clubs sponsors as development partners, especially if one is a builder and another is in hospitality.

I can't see a conspiracy here just forward planning perhaps.

I believe all that land is owned by Jomast and is already got plans for as is all the waste land opposite by the side of the water all the way down to the pub.

Is it gonna be this way till the season kicks off...a Grassy Knollington convention of the paranoid...?
As for a new ground , no thanks, A tin box up the top end of Brenda road or some other god foresaken location does not appeal.
