That's it, the ground. Would anybody like to revert back to the Victoria Ground at this time of change>
I'm into my 70's and never have got used to the Victoria Park.
I don't know about anyone else, but if asked, I am either going to Pools or the ground or the Vic.
Just a thought. Not sure if its ever been discussed on here before.

Sell the naming rights for all I care, if it helps bring finance into the club. The fans will call it whatever they're used to calling it anyway.

Always just say I'm going to Pools. If anybody asks me the name of our ground I tell them that the owners changed the name to Victoria park but that it is the Victoria Ground really.

Always be the VIC to me.
Not bothered about a name as long as we get it rocking again this season.

Victoria Ground for me. I don't like all these name changes. Why would we want 'The West View Can of Stella Stadium' or 'Fat Bloke Down the Pub Park'. It's Pools and Victoria Ground.

I never refer to its full title during conversation, but, in my head (or heart) I do.
I am old and old fashioned. I like tradition and whilst I am in favour of creating new traditions. I am not in favour of creating them at the expense of the old.
I like my roots.

I was thinking The Poolie Bunker, it's about time some of the vast amounts of money raised from this place was invested in the club.

Shall we start with a 5.5k cheque we handed over to Russ Green?

If it was towards his redundancy then it's a fantastic start!

Genuinely though, did I miss something? What was that from/for?

I could probably go with the bunker, it sounds intimidating.
I know its an exaggeration but its a bit like "This is a Anfield" that Liverpool used to make the opposition think.

Besides it sounds a little sexy too.

We could call it The Bunk which is sort of sexier. As with the real pitch there would be the inevitable skid marks and stuff.

I've never not known it as Victoria Park, so it would be weird to me -either way I usually call it The Vic or just say "I'm goin to the match"

If it was called "The Bunk" and someone miss-spelled "Pitch". It could sent the conversation right down the wrong road.

New owners wanting to buy the ground from the council.
Hope this involves the redevelopment of the rink end.
If there ambition is high the ground capacity needs to go up to 10000.
Lots of northern teams in the higher divisions with good away support. We need to accomodate them to maximise the clubs income.

I haven't heard anything particularly convincing yet to be honest. I got IOR when they said owning an English football club helped open doors around the world. They were a big global company at the time. I'd like to know what jpng want out of the deal.
Our chairman is atleast saying the right things but I'm already finding him a bit over the top. Maybe I'm being unfair but...

I can understand people being uneasy about the immediate interest in a ground sale as if its their primary goal. If the club did own it the ground would be the only thing of value we had. The trusts plan to make the ground an Asset of Community Value would make sense to me.
