Make an announcement on Friday that doesn't tell you anything of note.

Leave the fans in the dark/suspense all weekend.

Why wasn't the announcement left till everything was signed and sealed?

To give you something to look forward to.... till they find the note telling us it was all a big joke and they've gone, forever.

After the last sham takeover you would of thought it would of been a wise move to leave any announcement until it was all finalised rather than announce that there will be an announcement.

Presumably the new owners want to handle their own announcements and how they're presented to the fans and local media - hard to blame IOR for that.

Maybe the new owners are taking the piss and writing the longest and most detailed article ever?

Maybe the new owners have withdrawn because IOR jumped the gun and made the announcement.

Maybe JPNG Global are acting on behalf of one of their clients and announcements are being done to fit with the evening news in Dubai and the UAE? Our new billionaire backers will want maximum coverage on Look Oil.

Apparently JPNG and Gary Coxhall saw the state of the Ketchcup bottles and called it off.

I can just imagine the alleged new owners gathered round their computer screen reading the Bunker and the Mail and such like, and going, "they peel them with their metal knives".

They said there'd be an announcement today, there is going to be one. What's the issue?

Maybe the announcement today is to announce that there'll be an announcement on Friday?
