To be honest I wouldn't be at all surprised if he does an OK job. Just don't think pools, under the constraints imposed by the owners, was right for him as his first job.

If he takes Higgy with him he will do just fine.

When Hignett came here he said he wanted to get into management himself. Surprised he hasnt applied.

Can't see him doing too well unless they have someone else bringing in players. Good luck though, he had the respect to call it a day and leave us with a chance of staying up.

Wonder if he'll take Parnaby and Bates (if he gets the job) or has he learnt a lesson?

The fact he had constraints is rubbish personally, he himself admitted he had money to spend but didn't know what to do with it. Hence Murray was able to bring people in straight away.

As for being a nice bloke, on speaking to him all I got was arrogance from the man. The fact he cockily said he was always happy with the performance no matter what the result seemed ridiculous to me.

He spent a long time with younger players and did well. To me that is his level, more of an assistant than the main man

The bloke wasn't a league standard manager. His constraints allowed him to sign Bates, Parnaby, Miller, Harewood, Compton attempt to sign Greening. Now That doesn't look like constraints more like poor signings. Would you have trusted him with more money to bring in players after wasting it on some of them, I wouldn't.

Well he should be ok then as Gateshead aren't league standard!

They mightn't be Conference standard next May if he gets it wrong.
