I was half watching the telly in a pub and it had a report on Steven Gerrard’s last match, blah blah. I dunno why, but still on the Liverpool theme they moved on to when Bob Paisley was Assistant manager to the incomparable Shanks.

So they showed highlights of the match where Liverpool trounced the Mags in the Cup final the year after Sunlun had won it.

They focused particularly on the bench, where Bill Shankly and Joe Harvey sat literally bum-to-bum, with Joe Harvey smoking fags like they were going out of existence. Followed by a rather fit Princesse Anne presenting the trophy. Was it really like that?
