Since Maxted has gone and Flinders has apparently been released despite the club saying talks are ongoing etc, am I sadly right in thinking the last time we went into a season with 2 new keepers will have been the time we signed ALB and Budtz?

Cant be any worse though thankfully.

I hope this is not a repeat of the year we signed ALB and budtzer fingers.

That was of course, the last time we entered a pre-season needing 2 keepers.

Does anyone recall the scenario that forced us into signing both ALB and Budtz?

I'd hate for a repeat of it.

Apparently ALB is now trying to earn a living as an inventor - should do well, as he somehow managed to invent a 12 year career as a professional goalkeeper.

I trust Ronnie to sort the goalkeeper position.
Hes already improved it by releasing a vastly overated liability and Maxted.

I was at a quiz last night and one of the questions was about previous Pools keepers.
Who was the last keeper to have a three word name and which keeper had a "z" in his surname?
Bit stumped here. Anyone help me out?

According to The Echo today Nick believes Flinders will reject offer (no surprise there then) and that Bates is LIKELY to sign and both Franks and Austin are looking at options.

I was just hoping they'd all go. Surely there is much better than Franks out there we can get for £2.50 a week and as for Bates, sweet Jusus.

He would say that because he knows the club actually never offered him a deal.

There was the time when Houchen released Brian Horne and Steve Jones and we signed Pears with no back up at the start of the season

Paul O Connor signed from Blyth/Black and Decker later on in the season when Pears age caught up with him and he couldn't walk unaided.
