Ronnie in the Mail talking about how he hopes Boro, Newcastle and Sunderland help us out by loaning us some of their young lads.........wasn't there the same story last year with a quote from Cooper instead

Best loanees last year (Harrison excepted) came from further afield - we probably had to spend money on them though.

Then young lads
Now loans.

This is even testing my patience and I'll admit I'm a bit over positive about our chances!

Surely since he's got rid of 8+ he would still be able to bring in 6 plus a few loans!!!!

Blah blah, press talk to fill the summer, lazy journalism, same old same old, what's he going to say.....

"actually the last thing I want is a helping hand from three big teams who are geographically closest to us, they should send their best players to our rivals"

don't we all complain when the best of the youth and reserves for Boro, Sunderland and Newcastle disappear off down the country on loan?

Ior are going to back me with whatever I need and hopefully the 9 players I need will be here by the 29th June and if we get desperate during next season hopefully one of our near neighbours will help us out. Id like to here something like that. Nothing has changed and if people think it has there deluded. We will sign two or three then it will go quiet a few more excuses will be made how hard it is to get people to play for Hartlepool when were level on points with them etc etc the season will start and we will end up having shit forced on us from boro Newcastle and Sunderland that are the cheapest we can find.

At any other time i'd maybe say yeah, the odd player from sunderland or wherever to beef up the squad might be good.

But we need players first, we need quality and we need these 8 or 9 he originally wanted.

Moore or whoever is in charge needs to build a squad, a project, a philosophy to buy into, so other players want to come n sign for us.

Last year we were just a shop window for loan players n rejects.

Last year we handicapped ourselves by employing 1) a manager who talked a good game with little or no substance or idea and 2) a 'manager' who was the wrong guy at the wrong time and on a hiding to nothing trying to sort out the mess from 1).

This year, we've got one of the most experienced managers in the entire football league, approaching 1000 games in charge, I think he knows what he's doing.

I dont think the issue here is the manager.

You've missed my point completely.

think the point is we hear the same rubbish spouted each season so it's obviously going to get people down.

9 signings were on the radar, then it went down due to budgets, then young lads, now loans being constantly talked about

Today is the 18th May. The season finished just over 2 weeks ago. A quick look at BBC Sport Football Transfers shows Oxford in our division have got a couple of players in, Mansfield have given a loan player a permanent deal and got a lad in from non-league and Morecambe and Exeter have signed a player apiece.

Ronnie's not exactly missing the boat is he?

I'd be over the moon to read in the next 24 hours that Pools have agreed deals with Bingham and Dolan, but agreeing with Mr Ptbap just now.

If we've still done naff all business by 18th June I'll start wondering what Ronnie skipped his summer holiday for.

Till then will be enjoying Durham's canny start to the cricket season.

The letter I received regarding my season ticket price increase was apparently to help fund the manager to better last years performance, I believe it is fucking twaddle and expect another season of Bob Marley and Great escape music banghead

I know its only early days bht i bet we the only club in the league with 13 players on the books and no goalkeeper.
Can Russ Green play in goal!

I think most of us know the 9 new players is never going to happen.
Probably another disrupted side of 17/18 loanies coming n going.

Ior and Ronnie have already sewn the seeds for this close season. The cost of the pitch cctv; southern players to expensive, we will need to use the loan system, its even taken them the best part of three weeks to get season tickets out. So will anyone be shocked when June comes and go and finds us with very few players or quality signings? We will get the same rubbish excuses come July august and September for lack of signings as we have had for many a year now the difference being we have a decent manager who can work miracles on peanuts.

The new TV deal comes into play next season, I think league clubs get something like an extra 30%. Plus seasons tickets have had a hike.

If anything the playing budget should increase this year. Any youngsters in on loan should be only needed for injury cover.

It's funny how administrative costs are higher up north.

I also think its funny that players can get a better deal down south as the cost of living is so much more.

But even though our leaders say this, they must think the folk of the republic of Hartlepool are richer than the paying public down south.

But thats just my opinion, and as you all know I hate the bastards.
