I know I might be stoned to death for questioning the Messiah but am I the only one uncomfortable with Ronnie continuing to publicly criticise individual players in such a personal way.

To say openly that Compton needs psychiatric help is going a bit far even if you agree with him.

My own view is he can say whatever he wants to the players individually and criticise openly as a group but however true it might be, personal comments such as this, Bates is too fat, Duckworth and Holden can't defend etc etc are just playing to the media and not in best interests of team morale.

Mind you Ronnie has just pulled off a miracle, Compton has gone anyway so what do I know!!!

He's no longer our problem, ron can say what he wants, he's picked up a wage at this club the last 2 years n put in the least amount of effort he can.

I don't mid it, on the whole I'd say fans like the honesty and he isn't really saying anything we don't know. there has been a fair few times this season when Ronnie has made these comments and its got a reaction out of the players in the next game so to me he knows how to get the most out of his players.

It's not all bad what he says about Compton though. He does say he has the ability but he needs to get his head sorted which Compton himself will know and I think he needs harsh comments to get through to him but as has been said he is no longer our problem.

Yeah fair enough, as I say difficult to criticise given he has delivered the necessary results.

Just hope it isn't needed much next season and doesn't backfire at some point with him losing the respect of one or more of the players.

He's basically saying he needs help to sort out his attitude and he can have a good career. Hardly criticising, just offering advice.

I know I am not a regular poster and clearly I haven't left a lasting impression on you but this is about post number 60 according to the stats!!!

I would like to think that as ron moulds his own team, fingers crossed, this season he wont need to dish out these public tongue lashings.

I think he just hated the team this season as much as we did and didnt care about saying it.

At least Ronnie is honest in his assessment, imagine he's tried with Compton and gave him up as a bad job, to be fair he is only saying what most people think-Compton obviously has an attitude problem that probably explains why he has had so many clubs in the past Compton left Falkirk and had his second year ripped up to go to Bradford, I have to agree with Ronnie he has potential but won't fulfil it without help- another with ability but squandered it. Could see him in the Conference with someone like Wrexham or Torquay but again a reputation of being hard to manage or having a bad attitude is likely to make other clubs think twice.

....actually I've just read the article. It's fuckin ignorant in the extreme.

Neale Cooper was another one who named and shamed, and I don't just mean in his depressing return stint.
He absolutely tore Anthony Williams a new one. To the extent he never saw a first team shirt again.
And that was after only one competitive game with Cooper in charge.

Like I said earlier, I'm hoping we'll see less of this next season when it's moores team.
