When he came on loan Grayson said he was firmly in his plans for next season no matter what Division they were in so its all stuff we knew anyway.

Our only hope is they get promoted, splash out on some strikers and he struggles to get into their match day squad. Even then it wouldnt surprise me if he was loaned out to League 1.

Gratefull for his goals.
But i think we need a good permanent striker to partner the ever improving Scotty Fenwick.
IE: Bingham.

Oh well we'll just have to sign Bingham and Bird instead

Hugill will always be remembered here for THAT goal

Can't fault the lad for wanting to play as high as possible. Thought he gave everything for us , so thanks and good luck- hope you might come back though.

It's not a case of him wanting to stay on at Preston they are who he is contracted to he has to say that and any young ambitious footballer should say that. He's a Preston player!

Realistically though it's highly likely that Preston will be in the Championship next season and he'll do well get many first team opportunities with Garner and Beckford on the scene and that's before they sign anyone. So I'd say the chances on him becoming available for loan again at some point are high.

Fully agree with PJ

Also am I the only one that thought Bird was pretty poor and couldn't win a header to save his life despite being well over 6 Ft????

There's better strikers than Bird out there. I didn't think he was poor, but he didn't really stand out for me.

I actually think Bingham showed the most potential out of the loanee strikers. He'd be the one I'd most like here.

Bird was excellent at Oxford, really lead the line well. I never saw Bingham play, I only saw Hugill at Luton, and I don't think that game was a fair reflection on his abilities.

I think Bird was just starting to come good before he went back. Ran his bollocks off and caused plenty of problems in the last 2 games I saw him play for us.

I've never thought Bingham has sounded happy back at Mansfield, most be hard being loaned out to a team just half a dozen places beneath your own so they can bring in somebody they trust to score goals.
