And I quote:

'..decisions made last summer to allow Colin to dismantle the squad and not keep (at least) three key players (against mine and Russ' advice) was wrong - but as is demanded by most fans, media and indeed most managers, we tried not to interfere..'

The three - Monkhouse, Walton and Sweeney?? (although I thought Sweeney chose to leave?)

You HAVE to back the man you appoint or appoint a coach and do a Cellino and pick the team yourself. If you think the decisions are bobbins, get shut :)

To be fair to Ken, he has a good point... If we'd had Monky and Walton this season we'd have been fine long ago. I thought to myself today, I wonder what Colin Cooper is thinking about Pools staying up. His permanent signings last summer have turned out to be a bit disastrous and nearly took the club out the league.

Agreed Wommers, I was gutted when Monky and Walton went.

We have had some bad ones but for me cooper was the worst manager in hartlepool united's history.

You're probably right Mr Brother. I liked the man and because of that I was willing, at the time, to give him a bit of time, but unfortunately he just wasn't up to the job.

This isn't a new thing for Russ or ken to say this about last last years retained list. Russ said these exact words to me in October.

Dunno if it means they'll interfere this summer like.

The idiot nearly got us relegated and he blames someone who he didn't even want to get rid of (maybe there was VAT implications).. We have gone thru the mill the last few seasons its time for Ken to go!

Hopefully the rumours about investment if we stay up are true and the current incumbents will be shown the door. Discraceful comments from a man who's supposed to be in charge of the club!

Probably the same people who bought/sponsored a bit of the pitch.

What a load of rubbish, didn't Ken actually blame the fans for causing Coopers resignation.

He was doing such a great job that sacking Cooper wasn't even on the agenda.

Yet another entry to Kens blame list.

I imagine Kens a bit like Arya Stark off game of thrones, he recites his blame list every night before going to sleep

FFP, the council, the police, VAT, the fans, Cooper.

The third one was Mellish. And I'm not joking.

As much as Ken has messed up Cooper also needs a large portion of the blame for this season. He fucked us royally with his signings.

It wasnt Coopers decison to sell the leading scorer and not spend a penny on replacing him. The season has been a disgrace and I fully concur with Ronnies comments about not celebrating staying up. The decline of the football club sits firmly with ken and his best friend russ. Time for them to go

Extract: "this club supports any candidate who supports the club and the football league. The current mp has failed to do that on many occassions (as has the labour council). The MP failed to recognise that his immediate comments on certain issues regarding player transfers did not benefit the club but were made for political gain, and this failure to assist in negotiations with the council on the land purchase issue over the years has been disappointing to say the least... I urge you to think carefully about voting for any councillor or MP who does not recognise the importance of this football club and the it's future and the income it brings into the town"

Can't disagree with that, but the rest is madness.

Sorry but you are wrong. Cooper has to take some of the blame for his terrible signings.

Sorry your wrong look at the league table over the past three seasons , tho decline of the club, the lack of investment despite the best players being sold,. It all results in the club finishing third bottom and just maintaing league status. The continue decline of the club cannot be allowed .

Don't forget Baldwin being sold on deadline day the year before, with no re investment, and peter Hartley, same outcome.

Cooper wasn't doing brilliantly, but his hands were tied.

We've already had one miracle this season, could we have another and make sure these are Ken's last ever notes.

Think Hodcroft said he wasn't going to sack Cooper but when he resigned Hodcroft wasn't happy made a comment, 'well the fans got their wishes'

Well at least now we can use the money from those player sales for new players as the new FFP period will start so there should be no excuse from ken

Hodcroft n Green should be the first two out of the club next month but somehow i dont think so..
Retaining league status is there ambition it wont get any higher than that.
The lad who posted last nite about the carlisle match being a protest game against ior is spot on.
Let them know they have took the piss for to long.
Some fans probably will disagree with me but those are the ones who have the same low ambitions of ior.
IOR OUT!

I agree that it needs to change and I think moving forward under new owners may be a good thing but to absolve Colin cooper of any blame is ridiculous.

If it is true that he had the say on whether key players such as Walton and monkhouse should go, combined with the signings of harewood, parnaby and bates then he deserves lots of criticism.

Martin Scott up there as well who also signed his mates, probably a decent coach with Neale Cooper but never a manager. Was it true he stabbed Cooper in the back and got him the sack ?
