Hello folks,
now my club are safe I sincerely hope and from my conversations with other blues it is a popular wish is that you lot can escape the drop.

Nobody wants to see their "local" rivals flounder and drop away- playing each other adds a bit of spice to both our seasons and adds a decent bit of revenue to the both clubs coffers, unlike the 50 or so Cheltenham fans who are likely to travel north would do. So come on, fingers crossed that next week you can grab the points you need- three should do it and lets have a huge "nothing to play for" friendly at Brunton Park on the last day of the season and celebrate the end of a season that I am sure both sets of supporters wish to forget. The last thing I want to see is your team needing the points on the last day.

Good luck.

Graham, in the Warwick.

Cheers pal. Seems there is a bit more sympathy for us than I was expecting from you lot!

Thank you.

Look lets be honest all the "we hate (insert name of rival club)" is just usually bravado or stupidity from fans who are best described as gobshites. (Am I allowed to use this term here???)

Nobody that I know who supports Carlisle feels any satisfaction with what happened to Darlo, we loved beating them- sometimes with monotonous regularity and felt great glee rubbing their noses in it last time we played #em (0-5 at their crooks arena) but we miss them and really feel dreadful for their fans.

The only ill wish anyone had for you lots predicament was a simple "better anyone than us" and we are all just relieved that for this season at least we are safe. So once again, good luck folks and look forward to seeing you all next season- and in 12 days time as well of course.

If nothing else, Carlisle prove that relegation is not the end of the world. There is a way back.

Is it fair to say darlo was seen as a bigger game than pools then? I notice you have a bit of one way rivalry with preston.

Carlisle United have no real rivalry with anyone any more. Workington were our only real local rivals and they have been out of our orbit for 40 years. Although their fans still blame Carlisle for their unsuccessful attempt to be re-elected. Darlington and yourselves are at least local-ish, as are Sunderland and Middlesbrough. I suppose Newcastle would be a real good grudge game but the chances (FA cup apart) of us meeting are slim.

After that it is manufactured rivalry against any Lancashire team, Preston and Burnley get it from us but I think they are not interested having their own real local derbies to worry about. It's a bit sad really but that's what happens when you are based miles from anywhere- a bit like the poor kid who has no other children to play with.

As much as I can't stand the game locally we have professional Rugby league teams who do have genuine rivalries- I am jealous of them for that- if for nothing else.

Well join the club darlo are doing their best to stay in the dog and duck league for yet another year. York is a derby but with no real bitterness towards each other. I guess theirs a bit more spice with yourselves probobly because of a bit of history of trouble.
